Awareness Message – Final Advice – Redesdale Coliban Park Road fire
13/02/2009

Incident Information

The Redesdale Coliban Park Road fire has been declared under control. DSE and CFA tanker crews will continue to patrol the area over the next few days.

Any remaining hot spots, such as burning trees or smouldering vegetation, are well inside the burnt ground and should burn out over the next few days without presenting any threat to homes or farms in the area.

Members of the public are advised that if they see material still burning or smouldering more than 30 metres inside the burnt area, it will burn out without causing any problems, and does not need to be reported.

Core Advice
There may be increased amounts of smoke in the area from this fire.
Road use in the area may still be hazardous. Watch out for fallen trees, power lines, abandoned cars, wildlife and emergency services vehicles.
Residents should expect that many branches may fall from nearby trees in the next few days, and should be vigilant to protect themselves from injury.
Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.
