2015 Group 1 Sale Cup final – free tips and full betting preview

ALL Eyes will be focused on this Saturday night for the running of the Sale Cup (650 metres). With $75,000 awaiting the winner, four heats were hotly contested last Sunday resulting in a wide open final with a number of winning chances.

Lithgow Panther ($3.30) holds the call in the early betting markets after a strong performance in his heat where he ran the the impressive NSW raider No Donuts ($5.50 with Bet365) to a three quarter length margin on the line. The Rob Britton-trained chaser has the class edge heading into the race, having won the Group 3 Sir John Dillon Memorial (595 metres) at Park two starts back.

Impressive heat performances were also handed in by Come On Fantasy ($4.25) which put in a stellar run, coming from last to dive through and snatch victory from the classy Full On Bling ($11).

Group 1 Bold Trease champion Bourbski Fever ($6.50) was an unlucky second behind Crichton Bale in heat one, with the daughter of Buck Fever and Midnight Movie unleashing her customary big finish when the metaphorical door closed on a run at the top of the straight, ending her winning chances. With any luck in running she will be very hard to beat in the Boxing Day decider.

The Sale Cup is race 6 on the program and kicks off at 8.45pm AEDT.

“Won six of his last seven so form speaks for itself, probably lobs outside Ring The Bell and takes over up the back. The worry is the last 50 metres. With so many strong types in this, he'll need to pinch a few lengths on them to win but it isn't beyond him.”

“Doesn't have the profile of some of his rivals but is a very capable dog. He “went bush” at the first turn last week and put in a big performance to run down the leaders and just hold off Bourbski Fever. One for the multiples.”

“Marvellous stayer who made the ARG Top 15 Greyhounds of 2015. She will be slow early and looking to unwind late, so she's going to need a lot to go right to win this from the draw. Another one for the multiples.”
