Addington Thursday betting tips & quaddie | June 22, 2023
Greyhound racing is back at Addington this Thursday evening for the regular high-grade meeting. The first of 12 races will kick off at 4:21pm (NZDT).
Best Bet: Gitan (Race 9)
Gitan delivered for her loyal followers here last week when leading all the way to win by over three lengths in a dominant performance. She has an even better draw this Thursday and, with another run under her belt, should be that much fitter again. She is capable of breaking 30 seconds, which may be unlikely on a cool night, but she should still have too much on this field.
Next Best Bet: Pure Bedlam (Race 11)
Pure Bedlam has continued to let his supporters down in recent starts with poor starts and does seem to struggle somewhat with the wider box draws. The key on Thursday are the greyhounds immediately around him and wider being not the best to begin either, and that should allow him to catch a sight of the lure. He has a personal best of under 17 seconds, and it was that sort of form that saw him race through the grades earlier on. He may be down on that sort of form, but he is still good enough to beat this field.

Best Value Bet: Carlos Jewel (Race 4)
Carlos Jewel has not been at his best lately, but he is dropping right back in class for this assignment and most of his opposition are also battling to find some worthwhile form. His best days might be behind him, or he could just be needing a confidence boost after falling four starts back; either way, he will be paying a nice price and could be worth an each-way ticket.
