Dapto greyhounds betting tips

We are back at Dapto this Thursday night with 12 races, headlined by the GRNSW 5th Grade Series Final. Here are and quaddie numbers for the night, with odds from Australia's best bookmakers.

BEST BET: Sound Of Silence (Race 7)

The Frank Hurst-trained (box 6) is now ready for the Dapto 600m. His last three starts at Dapto have been over the 520m, resulting in one win and two third placings. Last start winner when stepping up to the 603m at Gosford May 6 beating from box seven, clocking best of the night 34.73 seconds. Drawn in the tricky six box but should be able to get a clear run early with a vacant box inside and two normally slow beginners drawn outside of him. Looks the greyhound to beat in this race. Main dangers look to be the -trained sisters – Cawbourne Turvey (box 4) and (box 7). They both have the same mother (Cawbourne Ruby) but different sire. Both greyhounds are suited here and can also run a strong 600m.

NEXT BEST: Under The Thumb (Race 10)

The -trained (box 1) looks the greyhound to beat in this race. Winner of his past two starts over this track and distance in quick times. Won last Thursday wearing the red rug, clocking a fast 17.08 seconds. Began well, drove through to lead, clocking a first split of 5.33 seconds. A repeat of the run would see him winning again tonight. Main dangers look to be (box 3) and (box 6). Rising Artist has won both of her starts at over the short course, since returning after a five month break. Nixon Bale has the advantage of a vacant box inside of him tonight. Is not normally a quick beginner but can muster speed soon after the start.

VALUE BET: Butterfly Angel (Race 6)

The Judith Richardson-trained Butterfly Angel (box 7) should offer decent value with the Ruth King-trained Lochinvar Lona (box 5) tipped to be a short-priced favourite. Butterfly Angel was a good heat winner last Thursday night from box eight, clocking a fast 30.00 seconds. Is a quick beginner, should be get galloping room early out wide, lead this field and look the winner at some stage. Lochinvar Lona was impressive winning his heat when wearing the red rug, clocking a slick 29.82 seconds. Is not a quick beginner but can muster good speed soon after the start. Tonight, from the tricky middle five box, he could find early trouble soon after the start. If not, he will be mighty hard to beat.
