Rockhampton betting tips, top odds & quaddie | May 11, 2022
The dogs retur to Rockhampton on Wednesday night with an 11-race card featuring a few handy types. These are our best bets and quaddie selections for the evening, with top odds from Australia’s best online bookmakers.
BEST BET: Foxy One (Race 11)
We will need to be patient and wait until the last race tonight. Hopefully, we can win some cash during the night and unload on Foxy One in the last race. Foxy One – trained by local leading trainer Ken Boody – has drawn the tricky six box, but this does not look a bad draw here with noted slow beginners drawn around her. Expect her to be contesting the early lead and be hard to beat. Last start, on May 2 at Bundaberg, she began well from box three but got checked soon after the start. Was narrowly beaten by Our Anneeka in her previous start from box eight. The Neville Jackson-trained Our Anneeka (box 3) looks the only danger tonight. She is currently in good form and has a good low draw. Normally not a quick beginner, so will need early luck.
NEXT BEST: Bago Dry (Race 5)
Bago Dry (box 4) is also trained by Ken Boody and looks well suited in this masters race. He has a tricky middle draw, but this could be offset with slow beginners drawn inside of him tonight. On paper, this race looks devoid of good early speed. Bago Dry is normally a fair beginner, then can muster good speed. Expect him to cross inside runners early and be hard to run down. The dangers look to be drawn outside of him – Surreal (box 6) and Scandalise (box 7) – and we do not expect them to cross Bago Dry early in this race. The Neville Jackson-trained Scandalise is currently in good form and looks the main danger. Has only won once from 41 starts over this track and distance but placed in 17 of them.
VALUE BET: Suite Lexie (Race 8)
The Craig Emery-trained Suite Lexie (box 4) could be a good value bet tonight at big odds. If she wins, it will certainly inject value into the quaddie. Began quickly here last Wednesday night to lead from box seven but got run down late by Tokyo Chief. The Christine Pollard-trained Tokyo Chief had a good low draw (2) on that occasion. Both of the Pollard-trained littermates look dangers tonight – Tokyo Flying (box 1) and Tokyo Chief (box 5). The Clinton Thompson-trained Just Law (box 6) won well last Wednesday night from box one, although he has the tricky six box tonight to overcome. We suggest backing Suite Lexie each way.
