Dapto greyhounds preview & best bets | Thursday 20/10/2022
We have another huge 12-race program to sort through this Thursday night with the highlight being the middle-distance series (Race 6). ARG has you covered with best bets, a value pick, and selections in all four quaddie legs.
BEST BET: Ninja Mac (Race 10)
The Ronald Alcock-trained Ninja Mac (box 1) looks the best bet on the program. This son of the great Fernando Bale was our best bet last Thursday night and he did not let us down when he won from box one to beat Icarus Bale, clocking a quick 17.06 seconds. He has now won three races and been placed in another two from his five career starts. Tonight, he wears the red rug again and is the one to beat. Valencia Bale (box 2) and Panyam Bale (box 3) look the main dangers from their good draws. These former Victorian greyhounds do not have blistering early speed, but they can finish off well.
Best Bet
Race 10 –
Form: 32111 | Career: 5: 3-1-1 | Trainer: Ronald Alcock
NEXT BEST BET: Cumbria Jim (Race 12)
The Stephen Fitch-trained Cumbria Jim (box 4) looks the next best bet on the night. This son of the great Barcia Bale was a last-start winner from box one when making his Dapto debut, clocking a good 17.16 seconds. On that occasion, he beat his littermate Cumbria Lad and Manilla Beef, who appear to be his main dangers again tonight. Cumbria Jim should get good clear galloping room early as he has a vacant box directly inside him and a noted slow beginner directly outside him. Expect him to be in front rounding the home bend and winning again.

Form: 452221 | Career: 100: 17-31-21 | Trainer: Stephen Fitch
BEST VALUE BET: Icarus Bale (Race 11)
The Simon Rhodes-trained Icarus Bale (box 6) looks the best value bet for the evening. This son of the great Barcia Bale finished second behind the promising Ninja Mac from box six when making his Dapto debut, clocking an impressive 17.15 seconds. Allowing for natural improvement, he should be in the finish again tonight. His main dangers look to be Berry Battler (box 5) and We Got Square (box 8). Berry Battler was a beaten favourite last start from box two when missing the jump. We Got Square is making his Dapto debut and is better suited to an inside draw.
