Lucky Road has been racing in much stronger company of late and with a clean getaway he should be able to lead from go to whoa. There doesn't appear to be a lot of speed drawn around him, so he should be afforded a clear passage early and he is a different chaser when he can lead and dictate the terms out in front.

Race 7: Nockabout Aussie
His recent form reads quite poorly but he is a class act on his night and at the big odds he is worth an each way ticket. From the middle pin he should get back in the early stages and that should allow him to drift across and find the rail with a lap to go. He is very strong in the run home and one out he is probably the most talented chaser in the race.

Race 5: Breathing Fire
Ideally drawn out wide and after a solid heat placing last week I believe he is ready to go to the next level. The red is going to start unbackable odds and he will take some stopping, however I think the two will give the favourite some trouble in the early stages and that might allow Breathing Fire to get away mid race. He should be double figure odds and he is worth backing each way, have more on for the place.

Race 8: 4 to rove with 1,5,8 ($3 for 100%)
Martin Clegg is a top flight sprinter/middle distance chaser and with an even getaway he should settle in the top two or three and he will prove too strong. Calypso Star has the good draw and he should be prominent throughout, whilst Serena Nimbus and Knocka's Return will hit the line strongly and they need to be respected.
