Greyhound Racing Tips For Friday 22nd March 2013
Yesterday’s Results: Captain Clarrie – Winner $3.60, Pablo Cruz – Second, Franklin Bluboy – Second, Born on Lava – Third, Cawbourne Flute – Unplaced.
Only the one winner last night, with all bar one selection running a place. Captain Clarrie was simply sensational, pinging out and racing away winning by a good margin. Cawbourne Flute, missed the start hopelessly, but produced a great run to just get beaten into 3rd. If he comes out with them, there’s no doubt he wins. Franklin Bluboy ran a great race but found just one runner too good. Look for him to improve next week. Pablo Cruz began slow and was unable to make up the ground. And Born on Lava, was simply beaten by a flying Tweed Bah Day. He was our selection for last week over the 515, and we mentioned to keep following him over longer trip. Well he blitzed his rivals last night with a devastating turn of foot.
Ipswich Greyhounds, Race 10 Box 1 Tiger Lifestyle 5.54 pm QLD time
Tiger lifestyle has been a model of consistency of late. He has come up with box 1 here, and it will be of great advantage to him. Midnight Toast is the dog to beat, he has been flying of late. Tiger Lifestyle only needs to get away quickly and have Midnight Toast to get held up a little to be a chance of winning this. Boxes win races and from the rails he will be way over the odds against a good young dog. Each Way.
Casino Greyhounds, Race 7 Box 4 Witchen Hour 1.57 pm NSW time
Sportingbet Stayers stake here, and the very speedy, consistent Witchen Hour looks a chance here. It’s an interesting decision made by her trainer Dean Turley, to step her up to the 600. She is getting on in age and has been out of form. The 600m journey may be a test for the daughter of Watch The Web. She has terrific early toe and should lead this race. Expect her to be out on front for the first 400m and lets hope she can hang on till the end. Each way bet.
The Gardens Greyhounds, Race 1 Box 2 Over Kill, 3.47 pm Nsw time
Over Kill looks a huge chance here. The favourite, Yo Cool Maxie, is by far the class runner, but he needs it to all go his way. He needs to clearly lead and put a large gap in then early. He struggles with the 500 and I’m willing to lay him here. Over Kill should jump straight in behind him here early and she only needs to camp on him to be too good here. From box 2 she should have no trouble clearing the surrounding runners, and looks a huge chance in this. Each way.
Wentworth Park Greyhounds, Race 8 Box 6 Scout’s Gold, 9.48 pm Nsw Time
Very tough race here with basically 8 winning chances. You can make a case for every dog but I’m going with one I quite like. Scout’s Gold has plenty of speed and has drawn near perfectly in box 6. He loves to race wide, and if he can begin, he is one dog who should get things go his way. Look for him to be burning around the outside early. He will be big odds and he looks a nice each way bet in a very tough race.
Geelong Greyhounds, Race 9 Box 8 Major League 9.58 pm Vic time
We’re going with a shorty here but he looks panels above this lot. He has posted a flying 29.42 at Sandown, and a repeat of that will see him just about lap these. He’s going to have to work early here, but on the big track he will have no excuses. He’ll be short but he should be winning.
Best of luck.
