Welcome to Australian Racing Greyhound's Greyhound Racing Tips for Thursday 10th September 2009 with Tips tonight from Sandown Park (Victoria), Dapto (New South Wales), Albion Park (Queensland), Angle Park (South Australia) and Mandurah (West Australia).
Small profit last night with the real success story being the talented Sheza Burst that was sent around at well over $5 for our followers. Amazing how the best boxed and fastest greyhound in the races and last start winner can be sent around so over the odds. With tonights Greyhound Racing coming from Sandown Park (Victoria), Dapto (New South Wales), Albion Park (Queensland), Angle Park (South Australia) and Mandurah (West Australia), lets just recap our track advice for those tracks.
Sandown Park is considered one of the best two turn tracks in the country and plays reasonably fairly, although there is a slight bias towards railers and greyhounds on the speed.
Dapto is a track greyhounds either handle or they don't. Favouring early speed greyhounds over all distances, it is one of the few tracks in Australian Greyhound Racing where dogs can race extremely wide and still make ground. Look for greyhounds with exposed form on the track.
Albion Park was the first track in Australia to move to the finish-on lure system and it is definitely the better of the two Queensland TAB tracks. A lack of depth in a lot of races can cause upsets at Albion Park when favourites are over-rated or suffer interference. Tread warily when betting on the corner start 600m races; and the 700m races will often throw up odds-on favourites that have alot of weakness about them.
Angle Park is all about leading to the first corner, class dogs will knock up winning in South Australia as their is a definite lack of depth, even at higher grades. Again be wary of betting in 600m and 700m events at Angle Park as in many cases it is just the last throw of the dice for connections and there are very few genuine stayers.
Mandurah can be a punters graveyard, the 492m distance, 647m distance and the 302m distances are corner starts and even the 405m start is only a short run before the corner. Good beginners are decidedly advantaged as are the red boxes over all 3 shorter distances.
Sandown Greyhounds – Race 1 – Box 8 – Gun Hand
Gun Hand is no world beater but more than capabale and has his ideal drawn out in box 8 and in an early race. Won 2 starts ago at Traralgon off this draw,leading all the way in 30.18, juts outside the best and has won a total of 3 races from 7 starts out in the pink. Has won 3 races here and either leads and wins or runs nowhere. Should lead this.
Group 3 Dapto Leagues Club Maiden Semi Final 1 – Dapto Greyhounds – Race 1 – Box 4 – Pedrosa
Don't take too shorter odds here but Pedrosa looks the winner based on his all the way 5.37, 30.04 heat win from box 6. Is another form the Brooklyn Rain damline being Big Daddy Cool~Brooklyn Rain and they are notoriously fast by can be disappointing off the bunny. Looking at the field he should be leading on his ear, but if he doesn't lead might be a huge risk. Will start short and should win but would be better to sit out if under $1.90.
Group 3 Dapto Leagues Club Maiden Semi Final 2 – Dapto Greyhounds – Race 3 – Box 1 – Liquigas
Overcame a tardy start in the heats to run 30.49 and win by 3.25 lengths but I reckon the camp would've been disappointed and as he was well backed, might've had their heart in their mouths early despite the box 1 draw. Gets the same draw tonight and given the confidence in betting is probably capable of much quicker.
Group 3 Dapto Leagues Club Maiden Semi Final 3 – Dapto Greyhounds – Race 4 – Box 4 – Brisk Miss
Boxed to lead here Brisk Miss will go around at nice odds and wasn't disgraced in the heats running second behind Liquigas in 30.49. Jumped first but was headed off on that occasion but has slow box dogs all around her tonight and shouldn't have as much trouble holding the lead.
Group 3 Dapto Leagues Club Maiden Semi Final 4 – Dapto Greyhounds – Race 5 – Box 4 – Dollstan Dream
Hate having to pick another squeeze box here, but Dollstan Dream is another from the more than handy Collision ~ Frosty Fruits litters and overcame a sluggish start to run 5.63, 30.22 in the heats. That will win this, but did have box 1 in the heats and now has to overcome box 4. Looks a very likely type and although badly boxed, we should get a price to reflect that.
Albion Park Greyhounds – Race 3 – Box 3 – Ryan's A Rocket
Ryan's A Rocket failed last start but has an excellent record here this year and another win here won't surprise. Won 2 starts ago running 30.27 here, has a PB of 30.11 and has won 10 of 28 starts here with 8 minors. One of the more consistent greyhounds racing in Queensland and a return to form won't surprise.
Albion Park Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 4 – Rail Raider
Prepared to forgive Rail Raider his last start eighth here 2 weeks ago and previously had won 6 of 9 starts here looking very good on each occasion. Have to assume he is somewhere near right again tonight and had a little issue last time out. PB of 30.14 is good enough and vacant box to his inside will help.
