Macca's Spirit resumed from a spell at Gawler on the weekend and was desperately unlucky. After beginning well, she was about to cross to the early lead but unfortunately got dragged down and put out of the race. Today she meets a significantly weaker field and with a clean getaway she should make light work of her rivals. Besotted is drawn to battle for the early lead and has been racing in consistent style of late, I think she will be under the odds but she should fill one of the placings. Shiels is well placed in the pink and if she pings the lids she has the talent to cause an upset.

Blurred Lines has been unlucky and also a little disappointing in his past couple of runs, but today he exits his favourite draw and appears very well graded in this event. He has a great record here having won three of his ten tries and has a very smart 30.13 PB. If he can get away cleanly he should have sufficient speed to cross and should prove far too classy. Alotta Luck has a heap of talent but poor box manners have cost her quite a few races. From the red she should get a fairly clear run early and should be able to run home into the quinella spot. Turbo Norris has struggled here previously but he is more than capable on his day, although poorly drawn he still must be respected.
