Leg 1 – Angle Park – Race 5: Winbrook To Place $1.57
Winbrook is a lot better than his form suggests and he should be ready to fire tonight. He has been placed in two of his past three but on two of those occasions he was beaten convincingly. Tonight he finds himself in a race which lacks genuine early speed, so he should be able to settle in the top two or three early and he should be strong in the run home. He is great value at $4 for the win but for the multi I think the place option is safer.
Leg 2 – Shepparton – Race 6: Governor Bale To Win $1.85
Governor Bale has a massive engine and from the red draw he should be afforded all the breaks in the early stages. He can miss the kick at times but he musters speed very quickly and with a wide runner drawn on his outside he should get plenty of room to push through and assume control. He is a little short at the $1.85 quote but he looks well placed and I with an ounce of luck he should be scoring.
Leg 3 – Albion Park – Race 8: Cheeky Chance To Place $2
Cheeky Chance has poor form at present but she hasn't been experiencing a lot of luck in running and she should be suited by the rise in distance. There is very little speed drawn around her and the six and seven like to move wide through the corners, so with an even getaway I think she should be able to drive to the early lead. The last 50m might be a small concern but I think she is good enough to figure in the finish and she appears to be value at the even money.
