Rockhampton betting preview & free tips | Wednesday, July 26
Rockhampton is set to host a 12-race program on Wednesday night from 6:58pm local time. The meeting is headlined by the Rockhampton Maiden 1000 final, which will kick off proceedings. Later in the evening, there are two cracking heats of a fourth/fifth-grade series over 510m featuring the likes of Sir Banjo, Walk On Sunshine, Miss Zoom Zoom and Skill Set.
Best Bet: Walk On Sunshine (Race 8)
This Michael Boody-trained runner has returned in great order after a one-month break, recording two wins over the 407m. The son of Sennachie stepped up to the 510m and was a heavy drifter late in betting when finishing 16 lengths behind Bank Heist. He stepped poorly and was subject to a major traffic jam on the first corner, making his run very forgivable. He will be aided by the low draw in this contest and maps sweetly. Walk On Sunshine is expected to cross City Way early and lead, in which case he can break 30 seconds and win this.

Race 8 –
Form: 3117 | Career: 14: 7-2-4 | Trainer: Michael Boody
Next Best: First Black Jack (Race 6)
First Black Jack has been a marvel for trainer and connections having won 35 races from 65 attempts, along with 17 minor placings. He is nearing $100,000 in prize money and is yet to be beaten from the red box in five races. His last-start win was superb when spearing the lids in 8.87 and stopping the clock at 23.79. He meets a hot field, but he looks likely to hold the rails and lead. Ring Me and Chips In are his main rivals and will be flooding home to no avail.

Best Value: Moonlit Dior (Race 3)
Moonlit Dior will be looking to score her first win in Queensland on Wednesday. The daughter of Bernardo relocated from Victoria in June and has had three runs at Rockhampton. In both of her starts over the 510m she has bumped into hot fields – including Miss Zoom Zoom and Protagonist, who both broke the 30-second barrier. Last fortnight she dropped back to the 407m and finished strongly running past one of her main rivals on Wednesday night in Too Much Scotch. Moonlit Dior maps well in this race, and if she can stay out of trouble and find a nice stalking position, she could be too strong in the finish.
