Rockhampton is set to host a 12-race program on Wednesday night from 6:35pm local time. The meeting is headlined by four heats of a fifth-grade series set to be run over the 407m. The star acts will be littermates Grande Bahama and Educator, who have combined to win five races from just six starts.

Edgewood was super impressive on debut and will be out to make it back-to-back victories. He stepped fairly on debut last Wednesday before absolutely exploding across the field, quickly putting on 10 lengths down the back. He powered through the line in 23.62, which was the fourth-fastest overall time on the night. He appears grades above his opposition on Wednesday night and maps perfectly; In Good Faith, drawn outside, likes to use the track, and there isn’t a great deal of speed drawn underneath him. Expect Edgewood to spear straight to the front and salute at the short quote.

Race 8: Rybolt (2)
Rybolt was first-up after 70 days off when he won by upwards of six lengths over the Albion Park 395m in a best-of-night 22.59 last time out. He began well and was able to push up outside the lead and quickly put the race to bed. Admittedly, he does jump up to top grade; however, he’s back to the country, and this race doesn’t have the depth of previous top-grade races. He’s drawn well in box two and should have the early speed to cross Pereira. If he can find some clear air, he’s well and truly capable of running under 23.40, which would comfortably take out this contest.

Race 4: Sayaka (4)
Sayaka has run second in two of her past five races, including last week in masters company when run down late by Tokyo Dreamer. She has won from the four box before and bumps into a relatively weak field with her main danger appearing to be Misunderstood, who returns from a three-week spell. There’s a touch of speed inside from Calm Sea, which should provide a good cart for Sayaka to lob outside.
