Albion Park Thursday tips & quaddie picks | October 5, 2023
Albion Park is set to host a 12 race program on Thursday night from 6:21PM local time. The meeting is headlined by the Dave Brett Memorial Final set to be run over the 520m with over $20,000 on the line. There’s also two heats of a fifth-grade 600m series where the likes of Icy Eyes and Respectability will attract plenty of attention.
Race 3: Darryl Keeping (1)
Darryl Keeping is boxed superbly to record his third win. The son of Feral Franky has been racing consistently over the 520m at Albion Park, including a win four starts ago, leading all the way in 30.24. This run was just four lengths outside of the best time of the night. Last start, he walked out from the pink box and was unable to get into the race. Forgive. He has a sound record from box one, placing in all three starts. Who Really Knows drawn outside can begin and run off on the first turn, which should provide cover for Darryl Keeping to push up, hold the rails, and be hard to beat.

Race 9: All Natural (8)
All Natural is racing in a fine vein of form and can complete his hat-trick on Thursday night. The son of Sennachie has gone to another level since returning from an MDC push at Casino, recording two wins at Albion Park in top grade. The most impressive aspect of these wins has been his start, as he’s been able to nail it and run good splits to the first and second mark. His time last week was flattered by conditions, and he was the only dog all night to crack the 30-second barrier. He bumps into the same dogs he has been versing and it appears Bear’s Bullet and Hara’s Herbie have gone a touch sour as they’re racing below their best. Expect All Natural to spear across and prove hard to hold out.

Race 12: Zipping Ramona (2)
Zipping Ramona has found a winnable masters event and certainly deserves to break through. In her last four starts, she has finished third, with two of those races against the favourite First Slip resulting in small defeats. She races much better when drawn low and has a favourable map, with Bella’s Blessed inside likely to begin and Very Unstable outside likely to use the track. Expect First Slip to use plenty of gas to cross this field and be vulnerable in the finish. Zipping Ramona can sprout wings late and pick this field up.
