Wentworth Park greyhound tips & quaddie | October 4, 2023
With the Million Dollar Chase Carnival in full swing and the semi-finalists decided, this Wednesday night at Wentworth Park will offer a chance for the maidens and the masters to take centre stage. There will be some emerging superstars and ageing champions all trying to get through to finals night in 10 days' time. As always, Australian Racing Greyhound will try to steer you towards some winners.
Race 1: Canya Love Me (2)
This debutant is a 23-month-old daughter of Collision x Opal Rocks and has been held back specifically for this series. Her mum, Opal Rocks, won seven of 27 and went around here in a speedy 29.6 seconds. She is from a very classy litter that has already produced six winners from seven starters – including the dog Andy Lord declared the next She's A Pearl, Bandit Bluey. Canya Love Me is in the powerful Jason Magri Kennel, and if she has the same ability as her littermates, she should be simply too good.
Race 2: Cut Model (3)
This girl is another pup from the prolific brood bitch Champion Model, whose four litters have combined for over $850,000 in prizemoney and a handful of Group titles. You know what you get with this breed: early pace and grim determination. Only two of this current litter to Superior Panama have raced, and both have won, and you can expect this girl to ping the lids and lead. If she does get to the front, it will be interesting to watch the clock; the breed does not generally run blistering times, but it does win a lot.
Race 9: Connections (3)
This boy has swept all before him since joining the masters ranks. His only defeat in his last six masters races was a narrow one here back in February. He has had a nice four-month break to get ready for this series, and with a personal best of 29.6 and the scalps of Aston Barak and Aston Ulysses, he will give them something to chase in this race. The closer to the inside, the better for this boy. If he can cross the two dogs under him, he will show why he is favourite for this series.

Race 8: Fernando Hunter (8)
If Fernando Hunter can handle box eight, it will go a long way towards securing the victory in the second masters heat. He has a poor record of only one win from five goes in the pink rug, but he does have 11 wins on the track. He also has a slashing 29.4 personal best which he set back in July, and if he runs that, he will win this race by lengths. He is another dog that has been given a month to freshen up for this series, and with speed drawn under him, he might even get out to decent odds.
