Wentworth Park betting tips

With the Oaks and Derby heats taking the Friday night spotlight, the provincial meeting for this week will be held on Wednesday night. There will be 11 races on the program and the first will commence at 7:07pm Sydney time, with the highlight being a very nice third-and-fourth-grade race. The Australian Racing Greyhound tips below will try to help you find a winner or two.

Best Bet: Spring General (2)

Spring General completed the hat-trick at Richmond last week after having a three-month break. He has only had the six career starts, and the first three were here without success. Since his break he has shown great early pace and put away the opposition early. He draws nicely in box two with moderate beginners either side of him and has a second from his only go at this box. If he can begin like he has been at Richmond and can run around his personal best of 30.23 out in front, that should be good enough to get the job done.

Next Best: Canya Love Me (6)

This boy has won four in a row, including a fast 29.71 here and a quick 26.39 at last start. He has raced at Wentworth Park on five occasions for two wins and two placings. He has only had the inside box once for a win at Richmond in good time. He has a personal best of 29.67, which would win this race, but might not get it all his own way with the two and four dogs having good ability. looks better than these, though, and might be in for a big couple of months.

Best Value: Glycerine (4)

This boy was impressive first-up in his narrow loss to and has been ultra-consistent ever since, including a nice maiden win at two starts back. He has had four career starts for a win and three placings and tries hard every time he goes around. He has never had box four or raced at Wenty, but he is well schooled and has raced from wider boxes every start so far. He meets a couple of highly touted dogs in this very open 1-2 wins race, but all that does is gives you better value with the top greyhound bookmakers.

Best Value

Race 1 – Silk (4)

Form: 2212 | Career: 4: 1-3-0 | Trainer: Andrew Katalinic
