Rockhampton greyhound tips & value bets | Wednesday, August 31
This week, we are back to our normal Wednesday night program at Rockhampton. We have another huge 12 race card to sort through with the highlights being the final of the Rockhampton Young Guns over the 407m. As we look forward to spring, let us warm you up with some good bets along with our quaddie selections. Good luck punting and may we strike some winners!
BEST BET: BE LIKE OLIVER (Race 9)
The Dallas Beckett-trained Be Like Oliver (box 1) looks the best bet on this program. He joined the Dallas Beckett kennel back in June of this year and has been consistently running well at Rocky. Last start, this son of the Zambora Brockie drew the red rug and finished second behind Velocity Tamika last Friday at Rocky, clocking 23.93 seconds. Three starts ago, he finished second again, but clocked a personal best time of 23.78 seconds from box three. A repeat of those two runs should see him winning this race. From this great draw, he should be able to hold a great early position and be hard to beat.

NEXT BEST: ROAD HOME (Race 4)
The Ken Boody-trained Road Home (number 9) looks the next best bet on the program. This daughter of Ritza Lenny is a recent addition to the local leading trainer's kennel. She should gain a start from box eight with the early scratching of Calm Sea, who is also trained by Ken Boody. This former Sydneysider has not raced since June 8, where she had a tumble when contesting the early lead. Tonight, she makes her Rockhampton debut from a good wide draw. Her three NSW career wins have all been when she drew box seven or eight. Ken Boody would have trailed her at the Rockhampton circuit so she should be ready to run a great race first up. The main danger looks to be the Steven Boody-trained Yuri Magic (box 1).

BEST VALUE BET: TARAWI OPAL (Race 11)
The Allan Svensen-trained Tarawi Opal (box 4) looks the value bet for the program. This daughter of Zambora Brockie was unlucky when we selected her as our value bet last Tuesday night. She finished unplaced behind So You Sing from box seven after being checked when contesting the lead. Tonight, she has noted slow beginners drawn outside of her. She could find the early lead or settle just outside of So You Sing (box 3), so should be hard to hold out. Dr.Kammi (box 1) looks the other danger as she is well suited to box one.
