Wentworth Park betting preview & quaddie tips | Saturday, May 14
We have 10 races on the card for the Saturday night spectacular that is greyhound racing at Wentworth Park this week. They include a masters race, a distance race and a couple of nice 1-3 wins races. Hopefully we can steer you into a couple of nice winners.
BEST BET: Stanley Road (Race 7)
The old master of distance racing goes around again tonight in a race that he will find much easier than his recent racing. He has been contesting the best of the best staying races and racing extremely well and drops back into this moderate staying race. The concern is that he can be tardy at box rise, and that might make things more difficult than they need to be, but if he step away fairly, he will find himself in handy position and will take control in the back straight to race away to win number nine over this track and distance. The main danger is Ziggy Stardust, who has been racing well of late.

NEXT BEST BET: Doonan (Race 9)
This is another star that resides in the kennels of Andy and Jodie Lord. We have seen him taking on all the good races during the carnival and that culminated with a 6th in the final of the Million Dollar Chase (off this box) which was taken out by his kennel mate She's A Pearl. He has a personal best of 29.7, which was also off this box back in February, and if he repeated that effort, would win this race by lengths. Box 8 might not be the best box in the world for him, but Amarillo – who is drawn inside him -should give him room early, so he could be battling for the lead – if not crossing to the front – at the first turn.
BEST VALUE BET: Grim Madara (Race 8)
This much hyped son of Fernando Bale and Magic Earner was a costly proposition for punters but has finally started to put things together and won a heat of the Group 3 Bob Payne Stakes in good style before improving further but finishing 4th in the final of that race. While this race is not easy by any stretch of the imagination, he has a vacant box outside him and not all that much pace under him and may be able to cross and lead and cause some issues for those under him. Expect him to break the 30sec mark (weather permitting). At this price, he is a great each-way play.
