Wentworth Park betting tips

It is another wonderful wintery night of greyhound chasing at this Wednesday. We have 11 races that span the whole spectrum of greyhound racing, from maidens to battlers to and everything in between, and there is even a 280m dash for cash. Some wonderful greyhounds are going around and, as always, we will try to find you a winner or two.

Best Bet: Screaming Jet (Race 8)

From NSW's premier kennel, this boy has taken all before him of late. He has progressed from a fifth-grader to a free-for-all dog in no time and just keeps putting away good fields. He has now chalked up seven wins and five placings from just 14 career starts, and is six wins and four seconds from 11 starts at Headquarters – including his last four in a row. He has been awkwardly drawn in his last few yet won them with ease and looks well drawn to get a very good run out in the centre of the track in this race. He didn't begin well last week and still raced to the lead and gave them a lesson, and this field is almost the same as that one. will head to the fence, which will give Screaming Jet all the room he needs to whoosh down the middle of the track and race away from them.

Danger: Zambora Tiger
He has a personal best of 29.58, which is a top-grade time, and if he can find that form, he may be an outside threat to Screaming Jet. He was taken to Queensland for the , so connections obviously have a high opinion of him. Not sure box one is his best, but if he can begin and hold the fence early, he can certainly run a time.

Next Best Bet: Rockstar Thelma (Race 2)

This girl is another of the very good Rockstar breed coming through her grades for Shaun Evans. She has only had the four career starts to date for one win and three seconds. She has just been run down a couple of times, including last week when she looked the winner before a very strong dog ran her down. There are no really strong types in this race, and if she can lead, 30 seconds might be good enough to steal this fifth-grade race. She is the greyhound with the most upside and deserves a win in town, where she is two seconds from two attempts.

Danger: My Lucy Rose
This girl is looking to give Ashleigh Harris her first Wentworth Park winner and was flying when winning in best-of-night time at last start, albeit in a maiden race, when first-up from a long break. Will need speed and luck in this, but if she repeats the Nowra effort, she can lead – and the leader through the catching pen will probably win this race.

Best Value Bet: Okey (Race 11)

This boy has been a bit below his best of late back on his home northern tracks. He has a terrific record here, however, going two from two, and from box two is two wins and a second from three starts. He has a personal best here of 15.85, which is absolutely flying, and if he can find that this Wednesday, he will win this. As always, luck is needed in these short races as there is a very short run to the first turn and you cannot afford to miss the start in a 280m race. However, with a couple of top-class sprinters drawn off the track and his recent form not being outstanding, we are expecting the bookmakers to take a few chances on this boy and hopefully that will benefit us all.

Best Value

Race 11 – Silk (2)

Best Roughie: Late Notice (Race 9)

hasn't drawn down near the fence in any of her 12 career starts and has made the best of bad boxes, which good greyhounds do. She had no luck off box four last week, and some would say she is worse off this week in box six. However, with a fence crasher in box five and a moderate beginner in box seven, she may just get some room and luck early in this. She is the only dog in the race to have won two races at this track, so gets into the race nicely. No doubt the market will be stifled by the inside two dogs, and with a best of 30.2 here, Late Notice could be a steal for punters if she can just begin and miss the trouble that will inevitably come.
