Wentworth Park tips and best bets

It's beginning to look a lot like Easter… maybe not quite the same feelings as the Christmas version, but the racing is hotting up with 10 races on the card tonight at Wentworth Park, including four preludes of the Golden Easter Egg – the best series of racing in NSW. Good luck with all your investments.

Race 1: NSW GBOTA Welcome Maiden Final (520m)

Runners qualified for this final on the 9th of Feb. tries to bring up a hat trick here tonight and if his previous two starts are anything to go by he will destroy this field. He has run 29.8 in both of his two starts and if he begins well and runs 29.8 tonight it will be 3 in a row for this young star. Devil Queen was tenacious in leading and not letting anything go past her in her heat, is well drawn in box 1 but would need to find 6 lengths on time to beat the fav. Zipping Princess in the strong Gatt kennel and will be improved and Simply Limelight ran quicker than Devil Queen when chasing Doonan first up, will surely be improved with that run but is better drawn down low. Doonan is a special for me.

Race 2: Ladbroke It! 5th Grade (520m)

A tough 5th grade here. Prabaker lead and got a little tired in his first go here bound to be improved and with the nice draw may be leading again tonight and might take some catching. King Kuru is another that shows good pace and has some good results recently at Bathurst and the 520m here might test him but he has a great record and if the give him an inch he may take a mile. Wicked Spartan may just be minding his own business behind the speed battle may get a lovely run along the fence to stalk the leaders and is super strong. Traction comes from the big tracks up north but did have a good Richmond win. Box 8 might be a nice draw for this boy and you always have to respect the Hallinan/Mackay runner Zipping Lennox especially if the market moves in that direction.

Race 3: Friday Night Racing @ Wp 5th Grade (520m)

I gave Cawbourne Helm a wrap 2 starts back and he won and then last week he comes out and beats Tiger Jack. Now I know you will say Tiger Jack was desperately unlucky but give Cawbourne Helm his due. He led and ran 30sec dead. That is the formula to win lots of races at Wentworth Park. No reason he cannot do the exact same thing although box 1 at H.Q. is often a tricky box and has brought many good beginners undone. Hyperventilate is an interesting runner for Jo-Ann Croser placed 27 of 33 career runs and low flying recently at Goulburn. Yet to be tried past the 440m but has exceptional pace and may lead if box 1 upsets Cawbourne Helm. Kiwi Fantasy will enjoy the drop in grade and may be value from that box, While Amarillo and Scotty are as honest as you like and will be thereabouts with an ounce of luck.

Race 4: Ladbrokes Same Race Multi Non Graded (720m)

Zipping Kansas steps up to 720m for the first time and if his near record at Richmond last start means anything he will be winning this and getting set for a big Autumn. Tricky box first time here over the 720m but this animal is all class. Catch Me Nero is arguably best dog in the race but he tends to do plenty of things wrong in running. If he switches on he could win this at odds. By Five Helen is a seriously strong bitch but won't want to be giving the Magri pair a start though the small field helps. Eye Catching is down from the sunshine state and will be an interesting watch at his first NSW start.

Race 5: Where Else but Wenty? 4th/5th Grade (520m)

A very nice 4th and 5th grade is next. Opal Model was very good here last week running great sectionals and winning well and is well boxed out wide and may take some catching. Ties that Bind has been flying for Frank Hurst and really appreciated the drop back in class to record a slick win last week and will be the testing material. Wioletta Bale has been so honest recently improving all the time and was only 2 lengths off Billy Creek last week. Ritza Coen has been good albeit in Masters company recently and Osprey Phantom has been racing without luck but does like box 1 and Crocodile Vella has plenty of ability and a quick P.B and will be over the odds.

Race 6: wentworthpark.com.au 3rd/4th Grade (520m)

A quality field assembled for race 6 tonight. Billy Creek has been in champagne form for Ian Gilders with a B.O.N win here and capturing the Bathurst Gold Cup and breaking poor Analysing's heart in the process. Box 1 will help him stay close through the first turn and you know how strong this bloke is. put it all together here on the 5th stalking the pace and coming away in a slashing time of 29.56 he missed out in the Bulli Cup but if he has any luck from this box just may match motors with Billy Creek which will be something to watch. Redeem Our Cash has been really good lately and may lead this, but this is a different beast and she will find it hard to hang on. is all class but will need to lift to worry these and Where's Rocky is super strong but not sure he can give some of these a start tonight.

Race 7: Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg Prelude 1 5th Grade (520m)

Race 7 begins the Golden Easter Egg carnival with the first of 4 preludes tonight. has been really good for us lately here and I think with luck from the box can continue his winning ways. He is very strong and may get a nice cart across to the rails. Hunter Keeping is honest he will begin well and go to the fence and with a vacant box under him may have enough room early to cross and lead tonight , although his record here is not great. Key Bob has shown good pace in his recent runs and likes to use the rack and will be well suited out in 7 in his first go here. On The Bus ran slashing time at Gosford and was then tried in the so must be respected and obviously has ability. is an interesting runner having her first start in the Andrew Bell kennel and if he has her rock fit may be a threat from the inside.

Race 8: Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg Prelude 2 5th Grade (520m)

Spring Patriot showed what he is capable of when he came out running and destroyed them in B.O.N here last Saturday and a repeat of that would see him winning this. Zipping Striker blotted his copybook on Wednesday night blowing the start and getting flattened is much better than that and if he bounces back will probably be leading in this and giving them something to run down. comes back to town with some good form is strong and if it gets the stalking run on the fence from the good draw through the first turn may be the dog to beat. Black Firebrand will appreciate a little more room to move early and Reena's Rosie is strong but needs to improve.

Race 9: Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg Prelude 3 5th Grade (520m)

Analysing has been so gallant of late leading and just getting run down late by Billy Creek twice. There is no Billy Creek in this and she deserves to return to the winners list. She should lead and should win. Rocking Jewel is the main danger in this race. Is very strong and will get a gun run along the fence if she uses it. She will be hard to hold out although she will be giving them a decent start. Little Prayer tries hard and shows pace in her races, she just can't seem to find the front in her races, Ditto that for Zipping Stewie although may get a little more room than recently from box 8. Japanese Black is honest and a place hope.

Race 10: Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg Prelude 4 5th Grade (520m)

Bruce Mick Glenn has had some serious wraps on him and has tuned up nicely for this by going to Temora and winning. Box 8 will suit him and if he goes anywhere near running sub 30 secs will go very close in this race. How Good was very good at Bulli copping a mid-race check before storming home. Not sure Wenty is the place for storming home but must be a chance in a small field. Smokey Cape is well drawn on the fence placing 6/7 from that box but and is a minor chance again, while Springview Sugar has shown nothing here so far but is super capable of pinging and going and giving them something to chase.
