Wentworth Park fields – February 16, 2022

Race 1: NSW GBOTA Welcome Maiden (520m)

An interesting maiden to start off proceedings tonight Fantastic Felix was sent out $1.60 favourite at his Wenty Debut and only his second start and almost lead before getting checked out of the race. He is in the very smart Fletcher kennels and he will be primed for tonight. I am willing to give him another chance. Raglan Beach another in a classy kennel and tried gallantly when third here last week to Devil Queen. She was 3 wide the entire 520m and was a tad unlucky to be honest may improve off box 8 and break her maiden tonight. Of the others Papps and On The Schnapps have chances but it looks a race in two.

Race 2: Ladbroke It! 5th Grade (520m)

A nice batch of young promising types here in race 2 and if Doonan repeats his maiden victory race here will win this easily. However it is often very troublesome to win your maiden and back it up with a win in 5th grade the very next start however I think this boy is a touch above average and has a bright future and will get plenty of room to move early. Zipping Tracker is racing well and failed to back up his good maiden win after blowing the start. Don't think he can afford to give Doonan any start in this. Exelero is honest but not sure he is up to these at the moment and likes to use plenty of the track. Cawbourne Bora is from the strong Dickinson/Lord combination and must be respected at her first Wenty try and Vera is not the worst but will need to come out running tonight to be any hope.

Race 3: Friday Night Racing This Week 4th/5th Grade (520m)

Zipping Striker is in white hot form winning 4 of his last 5 with a second in there as well has him humming and if he shows his usual pace will be in front of these for a long way. Skedaddle Jamie can show pace and has been a bit unlucky not to find the fence in his last couple till it was too late, if Zipping Striker dopes anything wrong early Jamie could lead all the way herself. Empress Tears is a stayer who is coming off a bit of a break and if we have wet soggy conditions like last week or the leaders jam up she may be storming over them at the right time. is worth another shot after getting cleaned up last week and you always have to respect a Syd Swain dog in Hundred Degrees

Race 4: Well Done Justin Langer 5th Grade (520m)

Magic Flame deserves another win has been so consistent and only missed the money once in her 12 race career. She is a good beginner who has no real pace immediately under her and I think she can use the room and her speed to cross and lead and win. Little Prayer was attempting to lead all the way over the 600m at Dapto last start when galloped on in the back straight. She wasn't going to win but she lost all chance. Worth another go here especially as she is well drawn and can show pace. is another who has exceptional early pace but can be prone to be flat footed at box rise. If she times the start well she is capable of running them ragged too. Silent Enemy has been tuned up for this and is very capable with 1 win and 4 placings from his 5 Wenty goes, while Springview Hawk and Charlee's Misty are definite each way hopes

Race 5: Ladbrokes Same Race Multi Heat 1 5th Grade Series (720m)

The first of our staying heats and Zipping Pearl lead them a merry dance here at her 720m debut after being moderately away and driving through at the first turn. She is better drawn in the red and if she begins on terms and shows that acceleration she may lead all the way again. Lucky Dice is the obvious danger couldn't get clear of manipulate when he needed to last week and is for the fence if he can get across from the “Dicey” draw without trouble then is a big chance. Manipulate tried hard last week. Mr Ibrox is strong but gives a good start and Jazz Party comes down from Townsville and into astute mentor 's kennel, her last to first win two back at Townsville was ultra-impressive and a big watch on her Wenty Park debut.

Race 6: Ladbrokes Easy Form Heat 2 5th Grade Series (720m)

The second staying heat for tonight and a tough one to sort out. Me Same You had been unlucky and broke his maiden in good fashion over 590m in a 0-3 wins race at is he ready to go on with it now? He held off Let Loose who did that late in said Bulli race and the further they go the more this bloke enjoys it 720m is right in his wheel house but won't want to be giving them too much head start. Cawbourne Turvey is very strong and is being tuned up for the rich middle distance series not sure about 720m at the moment but is in the leading NSW kennel. is an interesting addition breed by the Fletchers' and raced in S.A and now home to the Fletchers' has run some quality races down there when she lands on the bunny but there is no real early pace in this an may be the leader.

Race 7: Congratulations Ron Doran 5th Grade (520m)

Sekora showed just how strong she is when she gave Mexican Radio a good start and a thorough beating last week. Whilst the time wasn't flash she showed what she could do with a clear crack at them will get room early as the 7 likes to head to the fence , she will still need a little bit of luck from box 8 but is definitely the one to beat. The 2 Lord runners Grim Madara and Tenement Hall are racing well. Grim Madara is 3 from 3 at in B.O.D times and looks to be promising. While Tenement Hall ran good sectionals to account for Zipping Tracker here last week and may well lead this field. I like the way Charlm General has finished his last 2 wins at Dapto off and while he drifts off in the straight he rails hard through the turns and might get a dream run inside Mexican Radio this race and is very strong. Mexican Radio is quick early but 520m sees him out.

Race 8: Sponsor a Race @ Wenty 5th Grade (520m)

A very open contest this one. Flip The Script got the breaks but was very strong in good time last start. He headed straight to the fence and if he can get across there safely again tonight early may just go back to back. Start Packing stumbled out of the boxes last week and still almost led. If she begins well she can certainly cross and lead and would be hard to catch. March Legend is another one that can show good pace when he gets it right and has a sub 30sec P.B which would be good enough here. Ritza Skylar is very strong but needs luck and Rocker Flyer is honest and an each way hope from a tough draw.

Race 9: Lgee Preludes Start Saturday Free For All (520m)

She's A Pearl steps up to Free For All company tonight but the way she demolished them in 29.47 secs last week suggests she maybe something very special. Box 5 is tricky but she is a good beginner and should be very tough to beat. Zipping Sapporo tried hard chasing She's A Pearl all the way last week but needs to find 5 lengths. Flighty Fernando is an honest chaser who does his best when on the bunny but would need to ping and lead to be any hope. Jigsaw Joe has been racing well over the shorts at Goulburn but this is a massive ask first up at Wenty. Fernando's Glory has 4 wins from 6 here and is a strong kennel but would need to lift.

Race 10: Ladbrokes Bet Ticker 5th Grade (520m)

Another good race, Kooringa Amy is in the super strong Mackay kennel and he doesn't usually bring them here until they are ready. She showed great track nous to drive between runners and was too strong in B.O.N time at the gardens Saturday night. She is a moderate beginner which makes box 5 problematic but think she can overcome it to win. Burn is a better dog than we saw last week and got no room from box 8 finished close up behind the placegetters and is better drawn in the 4 but is still tricky. My Apologies put his best paw forward last week running nice sectionals on his way to a good 29.78 win. If he pings and does that again no reason he doesn't lead all the way and maybe improve his P.B. Winlock Brad has pace but finds the 520m far enough but is getting stronger and Boab is as honest as they come and an each way chance again.

Race 11: wentworthpark.com.au Masters M1/M2/M3 (520m)

The old-timers close out the program tonight… The Champ is having a rest so we have an open . has been racing over longer trips in non-graded company and will appreciate the drop in class and distance. She has a 29.74 P.B here and that would win this easy and she does looks hard to beat. Boomin Ethics has been very good when able to lead and may get that role here tonight. Stop The Shine has a sub 30sec personal best here which is second only to Prim and Proper and if she finds that form is a genuine hope. Meat Pie Hero tries hard as does Hello Dream but would they need to find something special
