A very nice 10 race card for Headquarters on Saturday night. While we may be missing some big names due to the heats of the Bulli Gold Cup on Sunday, it’s a nice card nonetheless. Below we try and find you all 10 winers at Wentworth Park. You can view all of Saturday night’s Wentworth Park fields here.

Race 1 NSW GBOTA Welcome 5th Grade 520m

A tricky race to begin with tonight. Opal Model had every chance to win at The Gardens last time and just went wide on the home turn and cost herself. The time was good on a wet track and so with any improvement on her first look here and the tendency to want to get off the track a fraction means box 5 might not be all that bad. She is in the strong Mackay kennel and will be tough to beat. Cawbourne Canelo also won well at that same meeting over the 400m where you can’t do anything wrong from box 6 and win and she was very good also considering she was 1st up in nearly five months. Nearly pinched one out of box 1 back in September and may well be the one to beat. When Princess Forty pings she usually wins and there is no reason she can’t do that to this field. Wicked Spartan is in good hands but has been trying over longer recently and Scotty has the best P.B but would need to find that form to win.

Race 2 Ladbroke It! 5th Grade 520m

Mick Hardman has Analysing flying of late and she lead everywhere but where it mattered most in the big Bathurst Gold Cup getting run down late by Billy Creek (note she did beat home Derby winner Slingshot Hooks) and if she begins like she did at Bathurst there is no reason she can’t hang on here. Billy Creek the Winner of said Bathurst Gold Cup lines up to chase Analysing again and is probably not badly drawn out in the 8 he is not a flash beginner but boy is he strong and honest. If he gets any luck around the first turn he may break Analysing’s heart again. Black Firebrand broke through for a well-deserved win here last week but is desperate for the fence and might find it harder in this company. Crocodile Vella also ran in that cup final and must be a rough hope and Moon Line has done nothing wrong at Dapto but finds a tough assignment back here at Wenty but is in a classy kennel.

Race 3 Friday Night Racing @ Wp 5th Grade 520m

Vince Spiteri has his little 25kg bitch Sally Reward going great guns at present and she is lining up for the hat trick at H.Q. She did the right thing by us last time winning well off box seven and showing good pace. Has a moderate beginner drawn under her and may well be in front for the majority of this one as well. Zipping Stewie for the classy Gatt/Hallinan combination will appreciate getting back to 5th grade and must be respected. Opinions has his paws on the till and just keeps finding strong types to run him down. Will need luck from box 6 but will probably be over the odds in this race. Gulgong Flyer won well over the Bathurst carnival and is a chance.

Race 4 Congrats Jakara Anthony 5th Grade 520m

Ties That Bind had no luck in his Bathurst Cup tilt. Last try here however he ran best of night and beat a subsequent winner. He like box 7, has won 5 from 6 here and will be hard to beat. Miss Hyped Up also tried Bathurst without luck and is better placed back here and is 1/1 from box 8. My Mate Holden will be improved from his first hard 520m race and may represent value. Ritza Skylar was super strong last week and I think is better boxed in the 4. If she has luck and can position nicely through that first turn may well storm over them again. Goodwin Grange led when run down by Black Firebrand last week and may be able to use his pace and box to lead again.

Race 5 Ladbrokes Same Race Multi 1-3 Wins Final 5th Grade 520m

Runners qualified for this final on the 2/2/22 and wasn’t there some stunning performances. Team Lord prepares 4 runners in this final and Tiger Jack couldn’t have been more impressive in his heat and then backed it up the following week. He is awkwardly drawn in the 6 but I think he is something special and I’m not about to get off him now. Kitty Keen got the bickies for us that night too and did everything right. I don’t mind her box here as she is a moderate beginner but just may give Tiger Jack a dream cart across. May well be the leader. Cawbourne Helm had good Riverina form before trouncing them here in the heats. Went home for a 400m tune up and may be the value runner out wide. Springview Hawk is the other runner with exceptional early toe and won his heat in the first 100m.He will be a big chance if he comes out running like he can. Clay Made is talented and may be able to use the inside to sneak runs and is from a very good litter that goes well around here of late.

Race 6 Congratulations Tess Coady 4th/5th Grade 520m

Redeem Our Cash has been brilliant for us in her last 3 wins here. Nothing to say she won’t ping the lids, go straight to the front and run her usual 29.9ish. That may be good enough to steal this, but she is more awkwardly drawn in the 4 box tonight. Soul To Squeeze appreciated being back in 5th grade last week zooming across from out wide to lead easily and race away with things. Is better drawn and may challenge again for the early lead. Suzie’s Face is another that will appreciate being back in her rightful grade tonight after tackling the top graders lately. Pristine Image is all class and has been freshened up from his Derby campaign and is a definite threat. Zipping Demand is super strong and just starting out on a distance career if they muck about and give this boy a crack they might just regret it.

Race 7 Lgee Preludes Start Feb 19 5th Grade 520m

Cayenne Model is another from that very good litter who has been sparingly raced but has some quality results already including a last start B.O.D beating her flying kennelmate Burn. Only having start number 5 but the litter goes well here and no reason to think she won’t. She goes on top for me. Spring Patriot was a touch disappointing last week but did cop a nasty check at the pen so his finish was understandable and I am willing to give him another go. Redeem A Prize is a sister to Redeem Our Cash and might be able to use the red to her advantage but will need to lift. Towering Star deserves a change of luck and has been so consistent of late but this is harder.

Race 8 Ladbrokes Cash In Free For All 520m

A really nice FFA to round out the quaddie. Bandit Ned bounced back to his best last week after beginning only fairly balanced up nicely down the back and put pay to them soon after. He deserves to go out favourite, but go back and watch the race and have a look at the run of Ritza Donna. All she wanted to do was rail under Fantastic Raven and she was disappointed for a run at least 3 times. She would definitely have threatened Ned if she had gained a clear crack. She is poorly boxed again out in the seven but is a genuine top grade chaser and a big danger. Chase Me Honey has been a big race bridesmaid of late 3rd in the Paws Of Thunder and 3rd in the Bathurst Gold Cup. Is another genuine top grader who deserves a change of luck but again is awkwardly drawn. Where’s Rocky is super strong but not sure if he can give some of these a start and Special Blend chased his heart out behind Ned last week could sneak some runs along the fence and figure.

Race 9 Where Else but Wenty? 5th Grade 520m

Charlie’s Jar stumbled out of the boxes on his nose and still almost led at the first turn last start but used all his petrol chasing the strong Blackjackist and still hung on well for 2nd. If he begins better balanced and shows that kind of pace he will lead these and be very hard to beat. Eternal Ten’s latest win at Temora was a good run in good time and I think will enjoy being wide and has a moderate beginner outside him. He is a definite threat. Double My Bubble the second Michael Clayton runner has a good personal best here and if she can find that form would be a big hope but hasn’t won for a while. Powder Finger has an ordinary record here but is very strong just needs luck. Runway Messi won here two starts back in 30.11 and that time may go close in this race.

Race 10 wentworthpark.com.au Masters M1/M2/M3 520m

The old-timers will close the card tonight and how can you tip against the Wizard of Wenty, The King, The Champ and anything else you want to call him. Sunburnt Highway is racing in tremendous heart and will probably sweep down the middle of the track and lead them a merry dance again. Hello Dream chased the Champ hard last time and is better drawn and might be a value hope. Zipping Brandy will appreciate being drawn hard up against the fence and is also a chance. Bobby the Brute is an addition to the strong Magri kennels and having his first go at master’s level after racing in top grade company in Victoria must be a hope as well. Ritza Coen is as honest as they come but can’t quite run the times needed at present… But long live the KING
