Wentworth Park racing tips, top odds & quaddie | Friday, 5/1/24
Wentworth Park will host 11 races this Friday night to kick off racing at NSW headquarters in 2024. There are some very nice graded races and a top-class non-graded sprint to close the program. The first race is set to begin at 6.57pm local time. As always, Australian Racing Greyhound will try to find you a winner or two.
Race 5: Zipping Optimise (1)
Zipping Optimise finally draws a box in this fifth-grade race. He has had eight career starts for four wins and two placings and has never drawn inside of box four. He goes into box one in this race and will start as a short-priced favourite in this moderate fifth grade. He missed the start badly and got hit hard soon after the start last week, and to make matters worse, he never got near the rail the whole way around. From this draw, against this opposition, he should be handy early, if not in front, hunting along the rails and putting them away in the back straight.

Race 6: Ritza Debra (4)
There is no doubt Ritza Debra was disappointing last Friday night when sent out as a $1.50 bookmaker favourite in a five-dog race, but she had a few excuses. This is the acid test for her. She gets into a moderate fifth-grade race. There is not a ton of early pace. She draws okay in box four with a vacant box outside her and should really be going on with the job in this race. She has now had nine starts for six wins and two thirds, is five wins from eight here at Wenty, and is one from one from box four. If she can lead or be at least handy and find the rails early, she should win this race.

Race 3: Trunkey Chief (1)
In a tricky race, Trunkey Chief gets his favourite box, the red box. He is two from two from the inside draw but hasn't set the world on fire at Wentworth Park. He only has a solitary second from four goes here, but he does have some very slick 29.85 and 29.87 wins at Dapto. He showed his improvement when chasing Derby hopeful Kangaroo Jack last week, getting beat by 2.25 lengths in a flying 29.61. He should get a lovely run from the draw, and if he can repeat last week's efforts, he will win this race at nice odds.
