Wentworth Park racing tips, top odds & quaddie | Saturday, 6/1/24
This Saturday night at Wentworth Park will see 10 races set down for decision. The first race will start at 6:14pm. It is the last chance for Derby, Futurity, and Paws of Thunder hopefuls to get a hit-out before next week's heats. There is a top-class non-graded race that will headline the program, as well as a nice stayer's race and a masters to close the card. As always, Australian Racing Greyhound will try to find you a winner or two.
Race 2: Fantastic Spike (1)
Fantastic Spike is back from a six-week break and faces his Waterloo in this race. He has only had 12 career starts for six wins and five placings, but is none from two here at headquarters. He loves an inside box, with a second from his only box one start and three wins from box two. There is not a lot of early pace, which should see him handy, if not in front, at the first turn, and if he is going to feature in the Derby heats next week, he should be winning a fifth grade like this.

Race 5: Big Tuna (3)
There is no doubt Big Tuna has been a touch disappointing since stepping up to the middle distance. So, it will be very interesting to see how he handles the next step up to the Wenty Park 720m. He has three wins, three seconds, and three thirds from his twelve starts, and races like the 720m will be ideal for him, even though he has never been to Wenty. That being said, this 1–3-win race is a very moderate-staying event. He tends to show a decent early pace in his races, and in a race devoid of any pace at all, he maps to lead and race away with his staying debut.

Race 3: Zipping Ada (5)
Zipping Ada has a bad habit of blowing the start, and it has cost her a number of times. She has three wins from 11 career starts and one from five here at Wenty. She had strung very nice back-to-back wins here and at Dapto before missing the kick and getting flattened at the first turn here last week. She needs a fair amount of luck in her races, but in races where she maps to be just sitting off the back of the pace, which will come from the outside, if she gets any sort of luck and a run at the first turn, she can certainly finish over the top of the tiring leaders at massive odds.
