Wentworth Park Saturday tips & quaddie | August 12, 2023
Wentworth Park will host 10 quality races this Saturday night, with the first race jumping at 7:28pm. There is a nice staying race for the fifth-graders and a very nice non-graded race, which will highlight the program. Hopefully, we can find a couple of winners.
Best Bet: Lisdale Road (Race 4)
Garry Coles’ striking blue and white dog has not raced since June, when he failed off box eight after being caught wide and badly checked at the first turn. He was going well before that, with three wins in a row – two here in 29.8 – and a quick Bulli win. He is drawn awkwardly in box five, as he can dwell at the start before mustering pace, and has two dogs drawn to his outside – Asiram and Akii Princess – that will both want to head to the fence. Numb, who is drawn under him, looks the leader. If he can somehow navigate his way through the early going, he should be perfectly positioned to swoop on the leader and race away with career win number 13.
Best Bet
Race 4 –
Form: 1114 | Career: 24: 12-3-5 | Trainer: Garry Coles
Next Best: Leg Speed (Race 1)
This talented chaser has run near-record times at Dapto and just can’t bring that form to Wentworth Park, where he is none from nine. He meets a restricted 1-3 wins race which has him perfectly graded by master mentor Mark Gatt. He is one win from one try out of box two and has a moderate beginner drawn outside him. None of the dogs in this race have broken the 30-second mark, and if the real Leg Speed turns up, we might get a glimpse of a dog that could go on to be anything.
