Wentworth Park Saturday tips & quaddie | September 23, 2023
It is the last Saturday night at Wentworth Park before the Million Dollar Chase officially grips the country. The 10-race card kicks off at 6:06pm local time, and with a host of greyhounds having their final hitout before the Million Dollar Chase qualifiers next week, it promises to be a top-class evening of canine chasing. As always, Australian Racing Greyhound will try to steer you towards some winners.
Race 4: Common Step (6)
This lightly raced girl from Victoria has blistering early pace, which will hold her in great stead for this 520m race. She boasts six wins and two seconds from her nine career starts and has won from both inside and outside draws. While she has the visitors’ box for her Wentworth Park debut, if she begins like she can, she can cross a couple of speedy dogs drawn immediately under her and race away. Stick with her in the Million Dollar Chase, especially if she draws inside on this track.

Race 6: Remember This (3)
This guy won a heat of the Group 1 Dapto Megastar before getting outsprinted to the first turn when running a gallant third in the final, and if Umberto or Mortified were in this race, they would be long odds-on. She drops back into a fourth/fifth-grade race and will appreciate the lack of class or genuine pace in the field. She has a nippy 29.7 personal best here and already has five wins on the track, while she is yet to miss a place from this box.

Race 5: Return Mac (1)
Return Mac is another that tried his luck at the Group 1 Dapto Megastar, running a great fourth in the final. He runs into Mortified again in this race, but you know what you will get with this boy. He will begin fast and use the rails to perfection; he just needs to find a length in the run to the first turn to hold out Mortified. He is five from 17 on this track and seven from 13 from the red rug, and with Mortified stifling the betting, Return Mac should get out to good value odds.
