Fanta Bale earns $1 million in Group 1 Bold Trease
FANTA Bale (David Bale x Ucme Typhoon Aug '14) stamped herself as one of the greatest dogs of all time with a sensational victory in Friday's Group 1 Bold Trease (715m) at Sandown Park.
The win took her earnings to $1,094,170 – making her the third greyhound to break the $1 million mark – and placing her in third spot on the all time prize money earners list behind champion greyhounds Fernando Bale (Kelsos Fusileer x Chloe Allen Mar '13) and Dyna Double One (Barcia Bale x Crystin Bale Mar '13).

Friday's Bold Trease win was particularly impressive as Fanta Bale had to work hard for the win. The black bitch jumped fairly from box three, settling in second spot on the inside of WA contender Petunia Monelli (Bella Infrared x Lara Monelli Apr '15).
Approaching the 715m boxes, Fanta Bale pushed her way along the fence to take the lead, kicking clear of her rivals and holding off a late challenge from a gallant Packey Keeping (Bekim Bale x Kim Keeping May '15) to win by three and one quarter lengths in a slick 41.98.
Trained by Rob Britton and owned by Paul Wheeler, Fanta Bale took her record to 52 starts for 35 wins, six seconds and five thirds.
She is the only greyhound to have a group 1 over 500, 600 and 700 and has now claimed seven wins at the highest level – the Group 1 Australian Cup, the Group 1 Hume Cup, the Group 1 Rookie Rebel, the Group 1 Albion Park Gold Cup and the Group 1 National Distance Championship in addition to the Bold Trease.
