Ferocious June, I’m A Neo take out Townsville Futurity heats

Ferocious June
was a gritty winner of her Futurity heat on Tuesday night.

Ferocious June used empty boxes outside of her to take out her heat of the on Tuesday night.

The Robert Lound-trained chaser lined up as a +170 prospect in the 498m heat against a -222.22 favourite in runner .

At box rise, the field consisted of four runners after the of Rose Target and Pacific Holly.

Jumping from box one, Ferocious June got out to lead as Plum Tuckered moved into second and threw down the challenge on the final bend.

Ferocious June held on to win by a length in front of Plum Tuckered and Bella Sensation (+2500) in a time of 28.70.

I’m A Neo took out the other heat of the Townsville Futurity, bouncing back into the winner’s circle for the first time since early August.

Trained by Greta Thomson, the +170 hope stormed home down the centre of the track to salute on the post.

At box rise, race favourite (-111.11) broke away to lead after carving through from the wide alley.

On the final bend, She’s Some Fox (+400) passed the leader to take over at the front before I’m A Neo passed between the leader and Pretty Cindy to take the win in 28.70 – the same time as the first heat.

She will now line up in the $7,700 Townsville Futurity final on September 26, having run the track and trip on 12 occasions for three wins and seven placings.
