Hosking happy as Oh Minnie pips Pebble’s Girl in Chief Minister Cup

The Jamie Hosking-trained pair were sent out for the 537m journey at value prices by greyhound bookmakers, with Oh Minnie paying $6.10 and Pebble's Girl at $5.90.

The race favourite for the $15,000-to-the-winner contest was the Steele Bolton-trained chaser , paying $2.20.

Oh Minnie won by a half length, beating home her kennelmate and Queen Lina ($17.60) in third.

Trainer Hosking was impressed with the performance of both his chasers leading into the Top End's marquee greyhound race.

“Very happy with the result,” Hosking said.

“They both used the draw perfectly.

“They are now aimed at the Darwin Cup in two Sundays' time with heats next week.”

The winner, a x bitch, has seven wins and six placings from 20 starts and $39,785 in prize money banked.

Pebble's Girl, a x Rimba Sambia bitch, has nine wins and 38 placings from a 78-start career while banking $71,368 in prize money.

The heats for the Darwin Cup will be held on July 30, with the final on August 6 paying $25,000 to the winner.

Last year's final was won by , trained by , beating home Lucky Lance and Showdown.
