Kanji Service wins on Angle Park debut
Kanji Service stepped out for his Angle Park debut on Monday night and saluted despite fluffing the start.
The Kiah Hurley-trained dog lined up as the race favourite, shortening from $1.70 into $1.50 with top greyhound bookmakers.
Out of box eight in his first look at the 342m trip, he missed the jump and fell to the rear.
Moving onto the rail, he began passing racers in the run with the inside alley.
On the bend he sat third before he moved out wide once again and stormed down the outside to hit the lead.
Kanji Service held on to win by 0.75 of a length in a time of 19.64, in front of Juicy Que ($6) and Aston Hebe ($14).
