Kia Kaha shatters record in Ipswich Auction Series triumph
Warren Nicholls, a trainer, from South East Queensland, is celebrating Kia Kaha's victory at the Ipswich Auction Series.
The greyhound, sired by Zipping Garth and out of Daniels Loss, showed speed as she crossed the finish line first in the 431 meter race, leaving Another Level and Johnny Koala trailing behind by four and a quarter lengths.
Not only did Kia Kaha claim the win, she also broke the previous race record with an impressive time of 24.78 seconds, surpassing the Little Byrnes record of 24.81 seconds set back in 2021.

Nicholls expressed his joy over her performance and announced plans to enter her in the Rising Stars series at Ipswich, provided she recovers well.
However, his main focus remains on the Golden Chase 520 metre event, where a lucrative $100,000 prize awaits the champion.
This year's Golden Chase events have attracted attention due, to the news that graduates from the 2022 auction will compete for prize money in 2024.
Kia Kaha's outstanding performance, winning both the rounds and semi-finals, confirmed her as the frontrunner for the final on Saturday night with online bookmakers pricing her as the $2.70 favourite.
Nicholls, reflecting on the Kia Kahas victory, commended her performance and unwavering determination.
He emphasised her maturity and experience as factors in her success.
Nicholls, renowned for his kennel, also has the talented Inconspicuous set to display his skills in Monday's Group 3 $112,500 Bundaberg Cup.
