Madigan looks to have a good one as Nayeli wins again

Nayeli proves too strong in a hit-out at Horsham on Monday.

Nayeli saluted again at Horsham on Monday afternoon to strengthen her credentials as a potential star on the rise.

Trained by Chelsi Madigan, the chaser lined up in the restricted win final over 410m, paying $3.20 as race favourite with the top greyhound bookmakers.

Jumping from box four, Nayeli shot to the lead with Pan Head ($14.90) chasing in second.

Turning the final corner, Nayeli kicked away to win, beating home Pan Head by 1.07 lengths in 23.14, with Bernardo Beast ($4.90) finishing in third.

The winning time improved on her previous best time at the distance of 23.17, when finishing runner-up last time out, on October 10, a length behind Orson Fury.

Prepared by Robyn Massina out of Golden Square before her first start, she joined current trainer Madigan in July and is her only kennel member.

Debuting at the Horsham 410m journey on August 8, she cracked her maiden on the first start winning by 3.25 lengths, her largest winning margin to date.

She has gone on to run the track and trip on three occasions, for two wins and one minor placing.

Nayeli has also run at both Ballarat 390m and Bendigo 425m trips, winning in both starts.

From of a 2021 litter of five comprising of two dogs and three bitches out of Marley Sprite and by Barcia Bale, Nayeli is the most successful so far with four wins and one minor placing from five career starts, while earning $6,180 in prize money.
