Mojo Herrera brings up hat-trick with Darwin win

After 51 career races, Mojo Herrera notched up his 11th win at the Darwin track on Sunday.

The Harrison Brown-trained chaser lined up as a $2 favourite in the 383m dash in open company as he took a third-straight win.

In his 26th start at the Top End track, he came out of box two to take the win by 0.25 lengths in front of Roma Blue ($7) and Whisky Diva ($4.40).

He ran the trip in 22.21, the best time of the night, with his personal best over the Darwin 383m at 21.99.

With a career that started with a second-placing at while trained by , Mojo Herrera would also be trained by Rodney Duff with runs at , and racing through Victoria.

Trainer Brown has great love for the x Ruby Herrera dog, who joined his kennel in January from the Rohan Gladman kennel.

“I really like Mojo, he’s been a great dog for us ever since he got here,” he said.

“He jumped really well and did great to hold the lead.

“He needs the rail to show his best and that’s what he got tonight.

“I know he moved around a fair bit early on, but he’s always shown ability.

“Can come unstuck at box rise but his last three wins have all been great jumps so hoping more of the same.”

Mojo Herrera now has 17 wins and 21 placings from 51 starts and has won $28,680 for .
