National Sprint Champ Put Through His Paces

One National Sprint Champion is sizing up four straight wins in just two weeks.

The -trained performer won well last Thursday night at Albion Park, then backed up on Saturday to win at very short odds at Capalaba in the heats of the Michael Miller Memorial.

The top greyhound is now favourite for the final at the Capalaba straight track this Saturday, but will contest the first and second grade Imagetec Free For All this Thursday night at Albion Park.

Jumping from box seven shouldn’t be a problem for the Malfoy – Rose Flamenco dog, who keeps going from strength to strength and sped home to run a 29.84 in Brisbane last Thursday, a personal best at Albion Park.

But this week he will have very strong competition on his inside with the in-form Ryan’s A Rocket jumping from box five.

Ryan’s A Rocket, trained by Ron Ball, is lining up for a third straight win in consecutive Thursday nights.

In box one, Black Attack is also sure to put up a strong contest, running second behind Ryan’s A Rocket last week and posting a blistering first sectional of 5.74.

One to keep an eye on in this also is , who has consistently raced in the top three each week, and finished second behind Dashing Corsair last week.

In other racing on Thursday night’s card at the Creek, last year’s Brisbane , , makes a return back to the track after taking three months break from Albion Park.

Black Ruler has started twice since in Casino over 484m, running behind in both starts.

However, tonight will tell if the Reg Hazelgrove-trained performer can regain form, jumping from a difficult box five.

Leading the GOTY table in Brisbane is Luva Drink, who will jump from box eight in this race.

Despite winning a handful of races this year, his consistent performances on Thursday night has seen him rack up the points for the coveted prize.

Pop Culture has drawn the red in this race, and will be looking to make amens after placing seventh last week after winning two straight.

is also a top chance in this, having only his third start over the distance at the track. The second run he had over 520m, he ran a very sharp 30.05.

Distance racing will again be electric this Thursday, with a very competitive fourth and fifth grade staying race, the Cartwright Property Management 710m (Race One).

Count The Dough ran brilliant placings behind and Shadow Boxer in recent weeks, and the more matched competition should suit.
