One-time GRV CEO Adam Wallish retires from Racing Qld gig
Former Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and current Racing Queensland (RQ) Executive General Manager of Operations (EGM), Adam Wallish, has announced plans to retire from greyhound racing administration.
Wallish joined RQ in 2017 after a brief stint with Hockey Victoria as CEO.
Prior to that, he was GRV CEO, but stepped down just five months after the Australian greyhound racing live baiting allegations became public, which led to the NSW greyhound ban.
Wallish held several leadership roles with RQ, including Acting CEO, and COO, as well as his current role as EGM.
Wallish will officially step down on July 19, 2024.
“I couldn't imagine a better industry to work in for so many years,” Wallish said.
“Racing is full of great people, and I'll cherish the friendships I've made.
“Thanks to everyone at RQ for making the last part so enjoyable.”
RQ CEO Jason Scott paid tribute to Wallish.
“Adam's contribution to racing, not just in Queensland but nationally, spans many decades, and we wish him well in retirement,” Scott said.
“Since he has arrived at RQ, prize money has almost doubled, while catalytic infrastructure such as The Q has commenced or been completed.
“It's a critical role in our structure, and we look forward to finding the right person to replace him.”
