Plum Tuckered qualifies for Group 2 Townsville Cup Final

served up a classy performance to stick on for second place and stamp her ticket into the Cup Final.

The -trained chaser lined up in the 498m heat, paying $3.70 with top online greyhound bookmakers.

At box rise, she got out to hit second on the rail behind the leader, ($6.50).

On the turn, Plum Tuckered moved up to before ($4.40) stormed out wide to win.

Plum Tuckered held on for second and will now have a tilt at the $75,000-to-the-winner prize final on August 25.

Trainer Danny Preh was over the moon with the performance from ‘Wendy’.

“It was a huge run by her!” Preh said.

“She missed the start and checked the heels of Chasing Fernando (3) just before the turn.

“Then Chasing Fernando kind of leans on her in the straight.

“She can pick up at least three lengths if she jumps.”

This will be the fourth runner that trainer Preh has had in the .

“I ran third in the final with Tipsy Four in 2020 after she won her heat,” Preh said.

“I had two runners in 2021 with Truthiness and Land Down Under, who ran third in the heat.

“I had no runners last year.”

With the five-box drawn for the Final, Preh admits that based on past trials and box experience, she should be ready for this one.

“In the draw, I would have loved to see her in seven or eight, but five was the box I trialled her in,” he said.

“In that trail she ran her first 498m after four weeks of from racing.

“She tired at the end, but she ran a great 13.54 first sectional.

“If she jumps, she will give it a good go.”

The Fernando Bale x bitch has seven wins and four placings from 24 career starts with $32,495 in prize money banked as she prepares for the 2 Townsville Cup.
