Professor Snitch wins 2023 Group 3 St Leger at Warragul

Professor Snitch swooped late to take out the 2023 3 St Leger final at Warragul on Friday night.

Trained by , lined up in the 460m final as a +520 prospect with greyhound betting sites against -111.11 race favourite Alpha Zulu.

Jumping from box two, Professor Snitch came out to sit second and held the position patiently for most of the journey behind Alpha Zulu at the front.

With the shadows of the post looming, Professor Snitch stormed past Alpha Zulu to salute with her trademark turn of foot, getting her over the line to win.

Professor Snitch beat Alpha Zulu by 0.04 lengths with another -trained runner in Navarino back in third in 25.69.

Professor Snitch finished runner-up in her heat of the St Leger last week, beaten by Awesome Avenger by 1.45 lengths in 25.52, which was the best of the night.

Kicking off her career on January 24, Professor Snitch beat home Shian Ricky by close to 13 lengths (12.75) in a dominant performance at the 431m Ipswich trip.

The win on debut was while trained by Kerry Hoggan, with Professor Snitch having three starts for the Churchable-based trainer for two wins and a third placing.

She would then move to the Steve White's Victorian kennels in April, with her first run on April 7 resulting in an 8.39 lengths victory over the 395m journey.

The daughter of Sennachie and Fabwik has now won nine of his 17 starts, with an additional five minor placings.

She comes from a hot litter that includes 2023 SA Oaks winner Where's Poppy.

Friday night's winner's of $28,000 lifted her prizemoney earnings to $77,185.
