Good Odds Cobber secures the Golden Ticket into the Gold Bullion

In a night of high drama and competitive brilliance, Good Odds Cobber triumphed in the 2025 Group 2 Golden Ticket Final at Albion Park, securing a coveted place in the $250,000 Group 1 Gold Bullion Final on Thursday, January 30.
Cobber’s commanding performance in the two-dog match race series saw him deliver the fastest overall time of 29.50 seconds, earning him a spot in the season’s marquee event.
The final match-up between Good Odds Cobber and Smooth Plane lived up to its billing as the highlight of the evening.
Breaking cleanly from box three, Cobber surged to an early lead, clocking a sharp 5.54 sectional.
Despite a relentless pursuit by Smooth Plane, Cobber held his ground, displaying grit and speed to secure a neck victory in the night’s standout performance at $6.50 with the leading greyhound bookmakers.

The evening began with a challenging turn of events in the first match-up as Blue Kermaro, a Million Dollar Chase champion, encountered an unfortunate setback mid-race.

Trainer Frank Hurst expressed his satisfaction with the dog’s performance and his readiness for the upcoming Gold Bullion Final.
With Cobber now a guarantee start in the Group 1 Gold Bullion Final, he has moved into the $4.50 favourite for the Gold Bullion final at Neds Bookmaker.
