Albion Park is set to host 12 star studded races on Thursday night from 6:44PM local time. The meeting is headlined by five heats of the 2023 Queensland Cup run over the 710m and seven heats of the 2023 Brisbane Cup run over the 520m. There's so many stars set to collide in what looks to be one of the best programmed night's in a long time.

BEST BET: Postman Pat (Race 9)

Postman Pat is undefeated since arriving in Australia and will be looking to keep his winning streak alive en route to Brisbane Cup glory. He has been set up perfectly for this series after having had three soft wins around one turn tracks in Victoria as well as a blinding run at 515m under the care of . The two-year-old Kiwi now has at the helm and one couldn't ask for a better caretaker trainer. He trialled brilliantly over the shorts before a breathtaking all-the-way 11 length victory in near record breaking time of 29.39. With this, he speared into outright favourite to take out next week's final. Before this, he must win his heat and he could not have drawn any better. He is undefeated from the pink albeit only having the one start. to his inside is a hard crasher and Pudding Monelli inside him is a slow box dog. Postman Pat will have plenty of time out wide to accelerate across and if he finds the top without interference, expect this track record to be under serious threat.

BEST BET: Amron Boy (Race 6)

First of seven cracking heats of the 2023 group 1 Brisbane Cup and appears very well placed to book his ticket for next week's final. The son of has been in sparkling form scoring four consecutive wins. Prior to arriving in Queensland he was victorious against Kelsey Bale twice who goes around favourite in her heat later in the night. Jumping from box five last week he was able to avoid a large on the first turn, sit outside Big Town Hero and put him away late running 29.73. It's fair to expect the two-year-old to have improvement in him and he draws significantly better in this race. Kai Bale inside him missed the kick hopelessly last week and had been doing so in Victoria while Adulate outside him is dropping back from 600m and likes to use the track. Expect Amron Boy to cross Kai Bale in the early stages, find the rails and from there it will just be about navigating his way to the front where he will pull away late in the piece.

NEXT BEST: Crumble Monelli (Race 8)

Western Australian trainer David Hobby is no stranger to a big feature race and he could not have asked for a better set up for his number one seed . The son of Barcia Bale comes out of the hottest prelude race of the carnival when bumping into greyhound racing's current pin up boy, Postman Pat. He wasn't able to match him early and faded late running third in 30.30. There's no doubt he will take plenty of improvement out of this effort as it was his first run over the distance in three weeks. The two-year-old has had seven starts out of box one for six victories with his only blemish from the red coming at start number two. Hopeful Nan to his outside is a known wide runner and will be looking to spear right at lid rise. Expect Crumble Monelli to shoot underneath and given he can hold out and Jay Is Jay he will prove hard to hold out.
