Albion Park greyhound tips & value bets | Thursday, July 13
Albion Park is set to host 11 brilliant races on Thursday night from 6:22pm local time. The Queensland winter carnival has come to an end and greyhound racing returns to regulation, headlined by three fifth-grade heats over the 520m featuring the likes of Showpiece, Cluster, Coonamble Kid and Boys Light Up.
Best Bet: Wendy Rocks (Race 2)
Wendy Rocks has recently stepped up to the 710m and has quickly put some brilliant performances on the board. Just three starts ago she began sweetly from box five and lead all of the way to defeat Blue Hornet in the BGRC Chairman's Cup Final by four lengths in a sharp 41.63. Since then, she has suffered two defeats when being unable to find the front from sticky draws. In Thursday's race she has drawn superbly in box one, where she is undefeated – albeit only having the one start. The daughter of Sennachie will have the wheels to burn off Spot On Harper early in the piece, and if she can hold out Fast Milkman to the first turn, she has a conservative five lengths on this field.

Next Best: Japanese Black (Race 11)
Japanese Black has been racing in good form and recorded a well-deserved win last Saturday at the Ipswich 520m, defeating Laughing Les on the post in 30.83. Prior to this, he had raced without luck over the course and trip he faces on Thursday. The son of Barcia Bale has found a very winnable race that is devoid of speed, and he's drawn well. He is winless from box one and has poor statistics at the track and distance; however, these have to be taken with a grain of salt, as he recently passed 42 months and is racing in masters grade. If he can replicate his recent first sectionals, he should be able to hold the rails, lead and prove hard to run down.

Best Value: Osprey Storm (Race 8)
Osprey Storm has been building towards a win since returning from a three-month layoff. He has had six starts since and placed in three, including two placings over track and trip. His best run this campaign three starts back, finishing third to Adulate from box six in 34.74. After this, he stepped up to the 710m and subsequently raced flat last start over the 600m when appearing to have every conceivable chance. He has drawn box one once again and faces similar opposition. His main rivals appear to be Adulate, who will have to bounce back from two poor results, and Wheel And Go, who might race flat as he drops back from 710m last start.
