Greyhound Racing Tips For Tuesday 26th May 2009

Welcome to Australian Racing Greyhound's free Greyhound Racing Tips for Tuesday 26th May 2009 with Tips tonight from Tips tonight from Albion Park (Queensland), Gosford (New South Wales), Casino (New South Wales), Warragul (Victoria) and (West Australia).

Due to the floods Lismore is off tonight and Casino gets a run, as they were out on Friday afternoon.

With racing tonight from Albion Park (Queensland), Gosford (New South Wales), Casino (New South Wales), Warragul (Victoria) and Mandurah (West Australia), lets review our track advice for those tracks.

Albion Park was the first track in Australia to move to the finish-on system and it is definitely the better of the two Queensland TAB tracks. A lack of depth in a lot of races can cause upsets at Albion Park when favourites are over-rated or suffer interference. Tread warily when betting on the corner start 600m races; and the 700m races will often throw up odds-on favourites that have alot of weakness about them. The 395m races are out and go affairs that, like all corner starts, are hazards to your punting dollar.

Gosford was rebuilt in the 90's to replicate the track layout and that's exactly what they got. A leader biased track that favours the inside boxes over all distances. The 400m races shjould ber avoided where possible as they are a corner start dominated by intereference. The 515m start is heavily biased to ward the insde four boxes (just like Angle Park) due to the short run to the corner and the fact the boxes are a long way off the track. The 600m starts again favour the inside four boxes and as a corner start punters need to identify leaders or good field dogs. There are very few races run over the 731m distance.

Casino, similar to Lismore is almost a complete circle track. They race over the 411m, 484m and 620m distances. Both the 411 and 484m starts have a heavy bias to the inside box, with the 2 box and the 8 box equally next best. The 3 and 7 box are both next best over both distances. The 620m start doesn't get as many races but the 3 inside boxes are considered a good draw.

Warragul race over only two distances, the 424m and the 699m journeys. The track is a leader biased track that strongly favours the red box runners over the 424m trip with more than 20% of winners exiting that box. Often plagued by interference in the curving back straight and entering the corner, the eight box is the next best as it is drawn to miss most of the rouble. There are very few races run over the 699m.

Mandurah can be a punters graveyard, the 492m distance, 647m distance and the 302m distances are corner starts and even the 405m start is only a short run before the corner. Good beginners are decidedly advantaged as are the red boxes over all 3 shorter distances.

Warragul Greyhounds – Race 3 – Box 7 – Thanks To You

Lookm for a huge reversal of form from Thanks To You here tonight. One of only 2 greyhounds to break the 24 seconds in the heats of the Goldrush Maiden. The other was Ned's Pedro who has really gone on with it. Thanks To You has struggled to reproduce that form in 4 subsequent starts, but with the 4 week let up and the wide box, he gets every chance tonight.

Warragul Greyhounds – Race 5 – Box 1 – Mighty Mojo

The impeccably bred Mighty Mojo has won 3 of 5 starts but the 2 failures have been dismal. Is obviously a lead or run nowhere conveyance so all eyes will be on box rise. Is capable of the speed needed to lead and the draw suits ideally. Has run 25.67 at Ballarat and can win this.

Warragul Greyhounds – Race 6 – Box 2 – Tenacious Ted

Hobart 461m track record holder Tenacious Ted looks a graded certainty in this 4/5th grade race. Now in the care of Mick Edwards, he failed last start at Sandown but id down in grade here and really does look a class above his rivals.

John Varley Memorial – Gosford Greyhounds – Race 6 – Box 5 – Rockstar Image

Possibly New South Wales most under-rated greyhound Rockstar Image resumed from a 6 week break after some ordinary results with a flying 25.47 win last start. Has run 29.73 here and despite not always being the quickest from the boxes, you'd think this track would not suit him, but he has started here 3 times for 2 wins, with the only failure being the Gosford start from box 1. Is suited from a wider box and should win easily in a tricky race.

Gosford Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 2 – Thai Agent

Thai Agent will improve dramatically of this box tonight. Has been in and out of form but will did win in 30.47 from this same box at Wentworth Park 3 start back. Has a career record of 4 wins and 6 placings from 15 starts and will put them to the sword here.

Gosford Greyhounds – Race 9 – Box 2 – Black Sensation

Black Sensation broke through 2 starts back after putting in some very good runs for 2nd. After winning his maiden from box 7 here in 30.18, leading all the way, he ran 2nd again last week from box 8 and now gets and ideal draw in box 2. Has had 4 career starts for 1 win and 3 2nds, all here at Gosford and has obvious ability. Just needs to put it together.

Casino Greyhounds – Race 1 – Box 1 – Wild Adina

Wild Adina ran favourite in her Tweed Heads heat last week but missed the kick and ran 3rd. Has quite a bit on the rest of these, and looks an ideal risk from box 1.

Casino Greyhounds – Race 10 – Box 4 – Go Wild Me

Terrible box draw but Go Wild Me has been racking up the wins in recent starts including 29.90 at Lismore and and 27.26 here. Has started 3 times for 2 wins here and should have little trouble leading and accounting for this field despite the draw.
