Wentworth Park tips and best bets

The ‘Awesome Autumn' carnival of greyhound racing rolls on at this Wednesday night with the three semi-finals of the Magic Maiden Series and four fantastic heats of the New Sensation, which is an age-restricted race. It promises to be a tremendous evening of greyhound racing with some potential superstars on show.

Race 1: Ladbrokes Magic Maiden Semi Final 1 520m

Zipping Novak was the fastest heat winner here last week and was backed like he was unbeatable and did everything right off box 1. Is in the powerful Magri/Hallinan kennel and will be something to beat in the first semi-final even with the awkward draw. Latrell Keeping began well and just skirted wide at the first turn. He tried hard and should be improved may cause trouble for the favourite if he begins and tracks wide. Silver Luck tried hard and ran on well into second behind Zipping Novak and may place again and Respectability will be better suited close to the fence with the scratching of What's Thy Name and almost lead last week but would need to improve.

Race 2: Ladbrokes Magic Maiden Semi Final 2 520m

Lightning Ethics was able to run a good first section from box 7 last week and went right on with the job posting an impressive heat win and there is no reason that she can't do the same again tonight and set herself up for a shot at the final. used box 1 perfectly to drive through on the fence to put his heat away comfortably but the times were not flash, but should improve. just couldn't quite cross and lead from box 6 last week is drawn better and may be in the firing line early. Mexican Bandit showed some speed but weakened late and has been good in his 3 starts but would need to improve.

Race 3: Ladbrokes Magic Maiden Semi Final 3 520m

put the writing on the wall when he was 2nd to Doonan in a flying 29.7 here and then showed why he was backed into ridiculous odds when he was forced to work from box 1 to hold the lead and then careered away with an eight-length win. Clearly the one to beat. Zambidis walked out from box 8 and charged home when it was all over, with natural improvement may find himself closer and with a clear run on the fence for a late surge. Especially Rare is the other heat winner who did nothing wrong clocking good sectional on the way to an easy win. Must be included. Canya Wilder tried hard although beaten a long way and Wildfire Ibrox charged home late and might be a place hope.

Race 4: Ladbroke It! 4th/5th Grade 520m

is a well-bred dog who is with the Magri kennel that has been a model of consistency of late and has never missed a placing in 9 career starts. He has a habit of beginning slowly but loves box one and just keeps coming if he begins better or has a touch of luck can get a well deserve win here. Pristine Image is the class runner having won a heat of the Derby earlier in the year beating Horchata. Has been raced sparingly of late and if he is ready will go close. Key Bob had been going well before tackling the Egg heats on Saturday night if that hasn't taken too much out of him he is a chance to lead this field. Red Hot Mouse is a chance while fresh and is in very astute hands and Fascinate Mel has been drawing wide for months it seems, she is a reliable beginner and is always a threat from the outside.

Race 5: New Sensation Heat 1 Non Graded 520m

The first of the New Sensation heats and what a race we have. Doonan should start the favourite and will get some room to move early with Harrison Keeping heading for the fence, and whilst his early sectional isn't the greatest if he begins on terms as he can, he may just add another win to his early impressive record. Springvale Hawk used this box perfectly and zipped away for a good win last week and while the times are not flash if Doonan does anything wrong might be good value. Black Zambora is another that can carve out early sectionals and could lead this. Would need to improve on the clock but being in front at Wenty is worth its weight in kibble and the leader may just win this. Agland Luai is another that has done nothing wrong here and deserves his shot against this company won 2 in a row off this box here last month and whilst this a step up in class is definitely a threat. Harrison Keeping is honest and a reliable beginner.

Race 6: New Sensation Heat 2 Non Graded 520m

Impress Dressel had been flying at Temora before running into Egg favourite She's A Pearl in the heat AND final of the Temora Cup and was far from disgraced and Peter Sims knows how to get them ready for races like this. Good Odds Jeb is another whose trainer Peter Lagogiane just loves this time of year. He is lightly raced but showing plenty of ability. March Legend has done everything asked of him recently by Alan Proctor and a repeat of his win in 29.89 would just about be good enough to take this. Spring Meteor is as honest as they come and has never missed a place here at H.Q recently won the $10000 gift at Goulburn so you know he is flying yet he is awkwardly drawn but definitely a hope. Devine Empress is up from Victoria for Kayla Cottrell and has shown exceptional pace and consistency over the slightly shorter journey. Loves it out wide and may well show this field her paws early. Lepidoptera has good pace and likes to stay wide and so may be suited to box 8 but 520m tests.

Race 7: New Sensation Heat 3 Non Graded 520m

Good Odds Emma blotted her copybook after missing the kick here in the Egg heats but she drops back into her own age and grade and comes up with the red and will be the dog to beat she ran 2995 off this draw 2 back and with a clean getaway will be hard to beat. French Martini is another Peter Lagogiane youngster that has had 2 goes for 2 B.O.N performances at the garden in the Robert Smith memorial series her heat in a slashing 29.22 she is definitely up in grade but can't do any more than she has. has been superb for Jason Fletcher and ran 29.87 recently; she has been sent out short at every start so far and is another in the race with a tonne of ability and another threat in this race. Nyah Nyah Flyer from the Lanigan kennel in Victoria has been good in restricted class and this will test while Space Girl can show good early toe but would need to lift.

Race 8: New Sensation Heat 4 Non Graded 520m

Sunnyside Boy the brother of French Martini may be as good as his brother winning his heat before almost leading but getting dragged down at the first turn in the final where his brother got the fly. Showed good early zip in both of those races and will be hard to beat. has been good for us recently winning well in good times at good odds his last 2 and deserves his shot in this company. Kip Keeping has talent and blew the start last week and I am willing to forgive and give another chance, Spring Renegade has been consistent of late on provincial tracks and Yuko Girl is better than she has shown recently and the drop in grade might help her.

Race 9: Ultra Sense Heats Friday Free For All 520m

Zipping Sapporo showed a glimpse of her best here last week coming from well back and while getting a few runs along the fence was too good in 30sec. Will need some luck from box 6 but with the vacant box underneath her might be all she needs to show us she is truly back. Smart Fernando is the only true FFA dog in this race and while his form looks ordinary, it's not as bad as it looks. He got squeezed at the first turn and knocked out of the race here last week might be the value runner and will get much more room tonight outside Zipping Sapporo. Esther's Thrill and On The Bus both have reasonable form and ability but the worry is the 0/9 record they both have here at Wenty. Tap Out Sniper was freshened after a staying campaign and resumed with an unsuitable 300m first up and may well sprint well over this distance fresh.

Race 10: LGEE Semis Saturday 5th Grade 520m

A wide open 5th grade greets us here where a case could be made for nearly every runner. Emerald Green returns from Victoria with mixed form. Its Only Me has been mixing form and distance at Albion Park recently. Going Gets Tough has been consistent without winning om the southern provincials of late. That's My Guy Judith Richardson's second runner had a good strong tough win at Bulli 2 back but is having his first go here. Sooky Lala is a last start winner at Bulli over 400m but is 0/4 here. Killer Boots has been chasing some good dogs around here recently and probably deserves a change of luck but is horribly drawn. Sly Dunbar has reasonable form at Richmond and Bathurst but is yet to have a start here. Might not be badly boxed off the track. Tap Out Diesel is the only runner to have won a race here and that was in October last year off this box must be a hope but don't let me sway you if you like one.

Race 11: Ladbrokes Easy Form 5th Grade 520m

Send It Tiger had no luck here last week when he tried to cross from box 6 and got 2 checks before the catching pen and I am willing to give him another chance in this moderate affair tonight. has been a model of consistency placing 10 from 16 that would be higher with better box manners and that the key for this boy he simply must begin better. Annandale has been picking up cheques and that trend may continue tonight. Romantic Power has been racing against better company and must be a rough hope. Breakaway Mae has shown pace on occasion and if she pings can use the red to advantage.
