Wentworth Park's Tuesday night trial turned out to be an unfortunate blowfor Canya Exclusive, shattering his dreams of competing in the Golden Easter Egg.
The son of Fernando Bale suffered a metatarsal injury during the trial, leading his connections to make the decision to retire the Group 3 Casino Cup champion.
Owner Nick Lalli expressed, “It was a hard choice, but ultimately it was the right one.
While there was a chance for him to bounce back, we had to prioritise his long-term health.”
Throughout Canya Exclusives career, he experienced highs and lows.
Starting strong in Western Australia with nine straight wins under Steve Withers guidance, he faced setbacks due to injuries like stopper bone and hock issues.
A move to NSW under Michael and Michelle Lils care brought life to Canya Exclusives career.
His standout moment arrived in November, when he claimed victory in the Group 3 Casino Cup.

Despite his talent, injuries continued to hinder Canya Exclusive.
Lalli reflected on what could have been, stating, “He had potential if not for those setbacks.”
At one point, he was even considered a contender for the Perth Cup alongside competitors like Crumble Monelli.
According to Lalli, “Michael and Michelle felt he was in better shape than when he claimed victory in the Casino Cup.”
His recent race times were remarkable, setting him up for a performance in the Golden Easter Egg.
Although Canya Exclusives racing days have drawn to a close, he will now savour a well-deserved retirement as a pet.
Lalli mentioned, “He's a dog who will be an excellent companion.”
After all, he's been through a lot, and he has rightfully earned the opportunity to live out his days in comfort.
