Friday Wentworth Park dogs off – Golden Easter Egg semi’s in danger
Today’s greyhound racing meeting at Wentworth Park, set for Wednesday, April 5, has been postponed due to the weather and track conditions.
The cancellation is a huge blow for NSW greyhound racing, as today’s race card was to hold heats of the Listed 2024 Ultra Sense as well as heats of the GRNSW Masters series.
The decision to call off the races was made by Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) after considering the track’s safety and the dogs well-being.
The Ultra Sense and GRNSW Masters, which were supposed to happen tonight, will be rescheduled to a date to be announced later.
The continued wet weather has also put the 2024 Group 1 Golden Easter Egg semi-final night in danger of being called off as well.
The Golden Easter Egg semi’s were to be run tomorrow on the Wentworth Park Saturday night program, along with heats of the 2024 Group 1 Association Cup.
GRNSW will make a decision on the viability of tomorrow’s Wentworth Park meeting later today.
