Isle’s Entity makes most of Maitland Million Dollar Chase call-up

Isle's Entity wearing the 10 vest, leads the 2023 Maitland Million Dollar Chase regional final field to the finish line.

Isle's Entity got a start as a second reserve and delivered a huge performance to take out the Million Dollar Chase (MDC) regional final at Maitland on Monday night.

Trained by , Isle's Entity started at +700 with online greyhound bookmakers, against the classy John Finn-trained who began as -133.33 race favourite.

Isle's Entity finished fifth in a roughly run Maitland MDC heat on September 4, behind kennelmate Tulsa King.

Tulsa King was scratched leading into Monday's Million Dollar Chase regional final, offering the start to Isle's Entity when John Finn's first reserve, Zipping Sabrina, was also scratched.

At the box rise, Zipping Remus jumped well enough but stayed with the main pack, while Twin Turbo (+450) took the lead from Isle's Entity in the race to the first corner.

Isle's Entity was able to cross down on to the rail behind the leader through the corner and drive to the front entering the home straight to set up the race-winning break.

Maitland MDC Regional Final – Isle's Entity (24.98) T: Michelle Sultana

Isle's Entity won by 2.5 lengths in 24.98, beating home Twin Turbo and fellow Sultana-trained kennelmate Fernando Rocker.

The daughter of and Zara's Entity was formally trained in Victoria by Paul Abela, where she had nine starts for three wins and four placings, with each of those wins coming in best of night times at Bendigo and Ballarat greyhound tracks.

Since joining the Sultana kennel in mid-August, she has had three starts for a win and a second, all at Maitland.

Isle's Entity now qualifies for direct entry to the Million Dollar Chase semi-finals along with Twin Turbo and Fernando Rocker.

Michelle Sultana joins Victorian trainers Jason Thompson and as the only greyhound trainers to have so far qualified more than one greyhound for the Million Dollar Chase semi-finals.

The MDC semi-finals will be held at Wentworth Park on October 6, with the $1,000,000 to-the-winner final run a week later.

The MDC race series now moves on with regional finals at Bulli today (Tuesday), and Casino on Thursday.
