Armidale Greyhound Racing Club had another successful meeting on Saturday with two trainers scoring winning doubles on the day.
“It was a very good day, the weather was fantastic and the club was really happy with how it all went,” said club president Greg Nordstrom.
Armidale race meetings have continued to attract trainers from all over the state, with some new owners coming from the coast along Nambucca and up towards Tweed Heads.
Normstrom said there were a number of quick times yesterday with Long Way Bobby over the line first in the last race of the day for Robert Bray of Uralla.
Normstrom says the track is in great condition, with the next two meetings to be held on October 11 and November 8.
The club also recently received a $1000 grant from Northern Tablelands member Richard Torbay.
“The club has been operating for 60 years in Armidale and its meetings continue to be very successful,” Torbay said.
“This funding will assist with ongoing expenses and I am also making representations on their behalf for an upgrade of the water facilities on the course to make them more sustainable.”
