Oscar Boaz wins The Macca at The Gardens with impressive rail run
Oscar Boaz made a strong move along the inside rail to overtake the leader and secure victory in The Macca at The Gardens on Friday night
Caitlyn Brewer-trained Oscar Boaz entered the 515m contest as a +900 bookmaker prospect after being called up as a reserve due to the withdrawal of Scramjet.
After the box rise, Fascinate Trump (+700) found the front, with Winlock Piper (+550) sitting in second around the first turn.
As they approached the final corner, Oscar Boaz made a decisive move along the rail, surging ahead to claim victory and the $7,500 top prize.
He secured victory, crossing the finish line one length ahead of Winlock Piper and Go Bears (+450), with a final time of 29.81.

Last time out, on September 15, Oscar Boaz finished fourth in a heat of the Black Top, close to 14 lengths (13.25) behind the winner, Head The Charge, at the 515m distance at The Gardens.
The start prior, on September 9, he saluted by two-and-three-quarter lengths ahead of He's Got Swagger at the 515m Gardens trip.
He started his career in December last year, saluting by four-and-a-quarter lengths in front of Fiery Eye at the 297m at Dapto.
After beginning his career at the shorter 297m distance, Oscar Boaz showed improved performance when stepping up to the 500m journey, securing three wins in his last six races.
The son of Fernando Bale X That's Lil Vicki, now has nine wins and six placings from 26 career starts and has earned $38,470 in prize money.
