Postman Pat gets back to winning ways at Sandown
Postman Pat returned to the track and delivered again with a blistering performance to win at Sandown on Thursday night.
The Jason Thompson-trained superstar was race favourite in the 515m fifth-grade contest, paying $1.04 with online greyhound bookmakers.
Before box rise, handler Luke Thompson said that the team expected him to lead from start to finish after finding the front quite comfortably.
As expected, with a clean jump he speared out to the lead and ran on to show he is a class above, winning by four lengths in a time of 29.06.
He beat home Afire ($17.30) and Multi Mutt ($15.80), both at long odds with the top betting sites.

Postman Pat’s run stripped his personal best over the track and trip down from 29.12.
The victory made it his sixth win from as many starts in Victoria as he boosted his overall record to 18 victories and four seconds from 23 starts.
After a second-place finish in the Group 1 Brisbane Cup, as the $1.80 favourite, this race was the perfect start for him to bounce back a winner.
The former Kiwi chaser will now prepare for his next major race campaign, in the upcoming heats of the Group 1 National Sprint Championship on August 5 at the Meadows.
