Rockhampton greyhound preview, betting tips & odds | Wednesday, 16/8/23
Rockhampton is set to host a 11 race program on Wednesday night from 6:52PM local time. The meeting is headlined by the “Dinky Di Web Design” fifth-grade final set to be run over the 510m featuring Zulu Joy, Sober Meredith and Guru Bart.
Best Bet: Rattlin' Grace (Race 1)
The stars align in the first for the new edition to the Darren Taylor kennels, Rattlin' Grace. The two-year-old made her debut last Wednesday and was heavily supported in early betting to start favourite. After beginning well, she was crossed by the eventual winner Champagne Talks who clocked a good time of 24.08. Rattlin' Grace was gallant in defeat, closing off strongly to record a time of 24.17. Wednesday's race appears to be a great opportunity to tick off her maiden. She finds a field where all of these runners are heavily exposed and have had their chance to break through while she still has upside. She should appreciate box eight as she went straight to the middle of the track from box one. Expect her to sweep across and prove hard to run down.

Next Best: Chips In (Race 7)
Chips In has been racing in terrific form and will look to make it four wins from his past five runs on Wednesday. The son of Fernando Bale has made the best eight 407m contest his own over the past two months. The general rule of thumb is when he has drawn favourably he has gone on to win while wide draws have often led to losses. The two-year-old has lined up from box one on nine occasions recording five wins and three placings. More importantly, he has won from this box in his past three efforts with an average time of 23.55. Expect him to jump straight on the arm and prove hard to run down.

Next Best: Velocity Kyra (Race 11)
William Boon will be aiming to close out the night on a winning note with his new charge Velocity Kyra. The daughter of Aston Dee Bee has landed in Rockhampton and is set to make her return to racing almost a year after her last run. She would have to be one of the lightest raced masters dogs in the country having only had 10 starts recording five wins and three placings. These runs include a slick 22.57 run over the 395m at Albion Park and 19.75 effort up the 366m straight at Capalaba. She passed a stewards trial last Wednesday running 23.81 and a repeat of this effort would have her extremely hard to hold out on her return.
