Victa Tara making a name for herself under Cottrell’s guidance

Victa Tara stepped out for her first start at on Tuesday night and served up a fast best-of-night performance to take her ninth consecutive victory.

The Kayla Cottrell-trained chaser was sent to the boxes in the mixed 4th/5th grade 400m contest as a -200 race favourite on greyhound betting apps.

Out of box two, she speared to the lead and dictated terms to win, running away in 22.53.

Victa Tara beat Junior's Mate by 2.29 lengths, with Mr. Dramatic further back in third place.

Following the forced transfer out of the South Australian-based Rasmussen kennel in August, Victa Tara has now won all three Victorian starts for the Cottrell kennel to complete nine wins in a row.

Kicking off her Victorian career at Shepparton over 385m on September 25, she beat a 5th grade field in 21.67, then headed to for a 390m 4/5th grade victory in a best-of-night 21.96.

Victa Tara comes from the outstanding 2021 litter of six by Fernando Bale out of Victa Polly.

The 100% winning litter is highlighted by 1 winner Victa Damian, who has won 14 times from 24 career starts and has earned $239,325 in prize money.

The litter made headlines during the Brisbane Winter Carnival, when three of the siblings made the 2023 Group 2 Flaying Amy Classic final.

Litter brother also joined Cottrell's Pearcedale kennel, having won 11 races and run seven minor placings from a 28 career starts with $62,005.

Victa Tara is proving to be a quality chaser herself, with a 75% rate at the top of the for 12 wins and one minor placing from 16 career starts.

She is a finalist who has now won $23,980 in prizemoney for connections.
